Does anyone know how to keep tyres looking black and shiny? I bought a car last week and it looked immaculate and had blacks shiny tyres, but now they are losing their sheen.
The car is three years old, I am wondering if the garage put something on the tyres to make them look so attractive and new and if I can continue to do it at home.

Yeah they put a tyre shine on it. You can buy them in motor factors etc.

    Heres some in halfords: http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchRouter?srch=tyre+shine&action=search&storeId=11101&catalogId=15551&langId=-1

The actual tyre itself or the rims/alloys?

If its the tyre itself not driving the car could be an option, they'll definitely stay clean then :D

Yes, you can buy it in any motor factors or Halfords. It's called either tyre dressing or tyre shine.

I was looking for a good tyre shine a few weeks ago. If you check out the following thread in this subforum 'Looking to buy a good tyre shine-recommendations’ there are suggestions there as to what people would recommend. I am using Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Gel at the moment (available in Halfords). It gives a lovely shine and lasts well in good weather but I still want to see how it gets on after a good few days of bad weather. Hope this helps.

The meguires tyre shine is quite good, it's not too expensive, and readably available.

    Don't apply too much.
