Please no. Is that what boxing fans refer to Mayweather as? As in they think he is pretty with his malteaser head?

Considering he came from this fella:
    floyd_mayweather_sr_0.jpg

And shares DNA with this fella:
    1-jeff-mayweather_8f13b.jpg

Then Pretty Boy wasn't a stretch at all. Floyd's a good looking lad. I mean, at least he doesn't look like a guy fresh out the Smeagol clone box.

    "Malteaser head"...oh how original.

I dont like watching fights when i know who the winner is before the bell rings. Thats why i have avoided watching joshua until he fought klitchko recently.

Im just happy this circus is finally happening and will be over soon. Cant wait to see mcgregor back in the octagon in a real fight by the end of the year.

He will defiantly be back in the Octagon but would be surprised if it happened this year

Dana white on espn said that it will be before the end of the year. Big msg card in november or they usally have a big card in december. I reckon it will be the latter

Anyone telling you to not watch or not support this fight will be the first ones desparately searching for a stream on the night and then giving out about how overpriced the ppv is.

"Cashcow" would only make sense if Boxing was a charity and no fights ever made a profit. It's a business before it's a sport.

Mayweather hasn't stopped anyone since 2011. Prior to that, his last stoppage was in 2007.

He will outclass McGregor and win every round easily but I'd be shocked if he finished him.

The build up will be good fun, the fight itself terribly boring with many saying it was the "worst fight ever" etc despite it being pretty obvious how it will play out.

    Conor makes $100m, job done.

I've no problem admitting I'll be looking for a stream btw, not a chance am I supporting a cash grab financially.

I'll make a prediction that it will be an exhilarating fight with plenty of solid shots being landed. I'll predict Conor will drop his hands and say "That all you got?". I'll predict Conor will come out Steve Collins style in the Eubank 1 fight, a half-sprint from the corner and straight into it.

Conor doesn't do boring fights. Floyd does but if his skill advantage is as big as you say it is, then he'll hit Conor at will and it'll make for an exciting contest.

My last prediction (in May) wasn't bad, when people were still calling this a publicity stunt or saying it'd be a 2018 fight, if ever:
This deal will probably get done a lot quicker but I expect the turnaround to be similar. Floyd might dilly-dally in negotiations but when he signs, it's straight to camp and fight.

Best guess would be they get the deal signed June 16th, announced for August 19th and bang were ready to go.

While I don't agree with it being fraud.

To claim job seeker benefit you're meant to be free/available to work.

College kids don't get dole why they get their education.

It's not really comparable with being in college. A fighter isn't unqualified for 3-5 years until they finish their course.
They are availible to "work" at any time. They are basically self employed, looking for a contract. In Conor case, he got signed and signed off welfare. What's the issue?

Is the protocol similar to the UFC in regards to weighins? As in will the fighters have a similar time frame to get the weight back on?

Will McG be a lot bigger in the ring?

Conor will be a stone heavier than Floyd imo. Floyd usually fights at near walking weight. Conor will cut from at least 168lbs but perhaps as high as 174lbs.

Point worth noting - Floyd in previous fights has been allowed the use of an IV. I'm guessing here but I imagine both fighters will be allowed to use IV's to rehydrate.

People say it because he collected his dole the Monday of the Brimage fight before flying to Sweden and for a few Monday's after (according to a snippet from an interview) but my argument would be I doubt the cheque/transfer from the Brimage fight was instantaneous clearing in his bank account, so he was probably still broke as a joke.

I'm sure if social welfare want to chase him up for 376 quid they can.

10oz gloves according to the guardian.

Mayweather was always gonna push for 10oz unfortunately.

With the power that Conor punches with, he was never gonna agree to 8oz.

Won't stop there either as you can have many different 8oz gloves... some hard and some soft, depends on the density.

This is a good example of how fussy he will no doubt be:

Im sure hes paid more tax than most people in the country in the last 3 years so hes well paid it back, in charity too.

10oz is standard at 154. Floyd prefers 8oz. Wasn't too pleased to have to wear them against Oscar.

I think you're right actually.... there's a video posted on the other thread about the limit being 10oz at that weight.

Mad to think fighters like Joe Louis fought with 6oz.

Tommy Toe Hold nailed it, this is one of his better episodes. Conor Jr. has a few good lines in it. :D

That's right but wasn't that cause he said they gave him pillows.... so was more the density than the weight he took issue with?

The Cotto fight was defiantly 8oz... wasn't that at 154?

Man the build up to this should be the craic..... more entertaining the fight itself I expect.

got it wrong, its not to land in Rd 1 @ 6/1. Was with PP ya.
Not sure about that, 3 min is a long time not to land

Cotto was 10oz, as was Canelo. Anything above 147 is 10oz. Mayweather wanted 8s for Cotto but couldn't get them.

He didn't get them? I thought he got them.

So if the rule is 10oz for 154, why did Mayweather bother even trying to get 8oz?

He requested them but it wasn't granted.

Oh god an Elie Seckbach video... That video was shot months before the fight. Here's an article closer to the date:
    http://www.boxingscene.com/mayweather-no-issue-with-gloves-cotto-bout--52141

Here's a report from fight night:
    http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/7896077/floyd-mayweather-beats-miguel-cotto-unanimous-decison

Mayweather is notorious for trying to get little edges here and there. He loves 8oz gloves, they're lighter which makes him faster with his punches and they also offer less protection for his opponent.

My favourite punch of all time. To do that to one of the greatest counter punchers of all time in Marquez in your first fight out of retirement is insane. That was some performance.

Early Floyd, Corrales was my favourite performance . Late Floyd the Mosley fight was an offensive materclass after been caught with 2 huge rights in the 2nd round.

Will be interesting to see who he ends up sparring for the fight, bring in any normal pro and he will be smashed before the day.
