    Hi Guys,

Any idea where to purchase a good , cheap ladder so that i can reach the roof.
The cheapest I have seen till now is:

    http://www.maplin.ie/p/multi-function-folding-step-ladder-with-platform-n74ka

But I think I will need atleast 1 meter more.

I need to transport it in my car, so something too big might not suit. Any ideas.

    regards,

    yeah, they are not cheap.
Will be using them maybe once in 6 months, so not worth it.

The maplin ladder on the UK website is 60 pounds, roughly equivalent to 68 Euros.
These guys are selling it for 80 eur in Ireland. rip off!

You'll need a lot more than another meter. That height will probably reach the top of the downstairs window (just about).

Sorry, I don't have any suggestion for you but I have one to those type ladders and it's really only for lower heights.

it looks like I will need an extension kind of ladder like this one then:
    http://www.woodies.ie/stradbally-aluminium-double-extension-ladder-2m-722495

but then this will not fit in my car.

That last link is no use. The height is too small. If you are buying one outright from woodies etc then you'll be look at closer to €200. If it's a once off, try ringing a local hire company and check how much they will charge you.

I would be putting roof rails on the car myself, but if you must fit it in the car how about this one:

But it says Double Extension Ladder . So it should be 2m + 2m in total if I am not wrong.

Click your link, then click specifications and it tells you the extended height is 3.35m

As above try a rental( tool hire) place if its something you don't really need.

Roof rack are on offer on micksgarage and an extra 10% off at minute.

you get what you pay for with ladders

extra cost gets you a better ladder, unusual in this modern society.

we have a triple extension stadbaly ladder that will go out about 35 feet or more. it is rock solid at full extension.
I was on a cheap (but still proper brand ladder not b and q rubbish) 8 foot ladder,
the 8 foot ladder was weaker and more shaky than our big ladder

buy a good ladder , its the only thing keeping you safe.

Twice per year usage = rental or borrow. Simple as that.

Littlewoods sell ladders and will deliver to your door!

    http://www.littlewoodsireland.ie/e/q/ladder.end?_requestid=32063

They may take a few weeks to deliver though.

I bought a 6.2M extension ladder recently, it fitted into my saloon car with a bit sticking out the boot.
