Why would you say it's the end of his career? Because he is making so much money?

People who chase money never have enough. Especially when you are into luxury clothes, cars, watches etc. A lot of athletes and celebrities forget to pay their taxes and they spend way more than what they really have. Running out of money when you thought you were sorted for life is behind a lot of sporting comebacks.

UFC is always going to be a guaranteed couple of million for him so I see him fighting again in the future.

Yes it's all about the money. He will likely make a much from this fight as he would in 10 - 20 more fights in the UFC. It would make no sense for him to get back in the octogon with killers like Ferguson and Khabib.

He will show up, make weight, take his beating and collect his cheque.

You can back Conor at 7/1 with some bookies and lay off at 6's on betfair exchange right now.

Funny seeing the smug boxing viewers coming out of the woodwork now, giving sly digs towards MMA and mcgregor, when this is the first time in years that boxing has been relevant.

I think people are just being realistic, MMA fighters just don't have the same boxing skillset of mid level boxers, It's a very different sport. Conor is not coming up against just any boxer, It's Floyd Mayweather, The greatest defensive boxer off all time, And one of the best ever.

Conor will lose, In my opinion by way of TKO In the 2nd/3rd round. He's going there to make weight and collect his money.

It's a terrible bet at any odds. If you're having a bet go for Mayweather by KO/TKO at odds on 10/11. It's extremely good value.

Lol, it was an arb there for a while. But they're backing Mayweather in now so it's no longer there.

Even the 1/10 odds on with Paddy Power for any Mayweather win is good value.

You're an idiot. I wasn't saying Conor was value. I was saying there was literally free money to be made in a quick trade as Conors back price was bigger with bookmakers than his exchange lay price.

I am a boxing man, i urge you guys not to support this fight, it is nothing more than a cashcow for both camps and promoters. It is damaging for both sports, there is no way mcgregor will come back to UFC after this, he can sit on his pile of cash or go to hollywoood for a while. Floyd(as is mcgregor) is laughing - easy 100 mill for doing bugger all. Disrespectful to both sets of fans. Don't support it!

Maybe so but Khabib has never held a belt and it's title fights and contender fights that keep a division moving. Can't have either of those of McGregor is champ. He picks his own sports and opponents based on money, no interest in legitimate sporting accomplishments.

What legitimate sporting accomplishment is worth chasing in the UFC?

    #wake up!

Good advice for Floyd after he gets dropped by the left hand.

These 'disrespectful' chants coming from both sides of the fence (but mainly boxing) comes across as very arrogant.

Trying to protect their Old Boys Club.

As I said, They didn't seem to bothered by Toney fighting Coutoure in MMA.

They're afraid of Conor winning simple as, as unlikley as it may be.

If he was training full time that's out and out fraud
    How was it fraud?

I don't think you understand what training full time means. In case it's not completely obvious, training isn't a job, you don't get paid to train in MMA.

In related news (and without trying to drag off topic) I have heard that McGregor is the most reported person in the country to social welfare for suspected fraud.

Anytime he's in the news they get a new wave of reports.

Lots of sour grapes out there.

Is it true they're going to be wearing 10 oz gloves?

For all those who dont give Conor a chance....id like to point out that Floyd holds a victory over The Big Show in wrestling... it is possible to crossover and win

No big fan of either sport but I always watch the nights that McGregor is fighting. Something about him draws me and loads of other non fight fans to him like a moth to a flame. Naturally having read about it it looks like he has no real chance at all. I'll still be up to all hours that night to watch it hoping for a shock.

While I don't agree with it being fraud.

I spar with boxers and lads doing K1/Muay Thai regularly and the difference in actual boxing is vast for the most part. It's just a different craft, different movement.
If boxers like Canelo and Pacman couldn't land a punch on Mayweather, what hope does McGregor have seriously?

I'll watch it and I applaud McGregor, he will have talked himself into a huge payday. For a guy who was on the dole 5 years ago, how could you not be impressed? The main is an entertainer, as much as circus this is it will be damn entertaining right from the presser to the fight.

A mature student gets social welfare. Someone doing a fas course gets assistance. Why would someone in training for a future career, up skilling themselves be any different?

    From McGregor's point of view:

    - gives McGregor a huuuuge pile of cash

    - increases the McGregor brand massively for the subsequent...

    - move to Hollywood. Within 5 years he'll be starring in a buddy action/comedy opposite some jackie chan type.

I imagine he'll be the next Jason Statham. Can't really act, but is funny, charming, charismatic, good looking and knows how to fight on screen.

Find it hard to see him fighting much more in the UFC after this, unless he has some obligatory fight he must do in order to satisfy Dana White for letting him box Floyd.
