Fair dues in relation to what ? MMA - abolutely im one of his biggest fans have been to Vegas twice and Boston once wathing him sure .

So you're saying mcgregors ability to predict his opponents punches, keep his distance and countering are at the level of an average amatuer boxer from dublin? No... there's a reason he ko'd aldo in 13 seconds and had diaz miss every single punch in their rematch for the first 2 rounds. Because he stays just outside his opponents range most of the time, is able to see punches coming and slip/counter them with world class level execution. If you can't see that you're just a hater or know nothing.

Yes - for a MMA fighter his striking is world class.

Pretty sure you brought up average amatuer from dublin? So you're saying all average amatuers from dublin have world class striking if they were mma fighters?

I think you missed the point of the whole thing . I said he was an average amateur boxer . He is world class at MMA and could go onto be the best ever if he beats Woodley.

I misread a bit, but your post still seems to imply you're saying he has no boxing skills. But there's more than 1 skillset that makes a good boxer. Mcgregor is at a very high level in some of those skills, not so good in others.

Of course he has boxing skills be silly to suggest otherwise . It's just in comparison to professional boxers from mid level up his skills would be average .

Nail on the head. Mcgregor vs Mayweather in a boxing fight will be just as competetive if McGregor fought Mayweather in kickboxing fight, let alone an MMA fight

There are some people who even if Mayweather had his hands tied behind his back for the whole fight, would still give McGregor no chance.

I think its hard for some boxing fans to contemplate how someone who on paper has never had a professional boxing match can beat someone with an undefeated boxing record. But records and 'what should happen' goes out the window when they're actually fighting.

Records and that don't go out the window....

D only hope Conor has is a hail mary KO. The same hope literally millions of able bodied men would have who can box a little......

Conor would not even be ranked if he was to switch to boxing. He is grade D. He is not a pro boxer. Never was.

Like saying Henry Shefflin has a chance in SW19 against Federer...

Combat sports are not like any other sport so all these comparisons are stupid. And if mcgregor does land 1 clean punch and knocks him out it wouldn't be anymore a fluke than any other ko in a pro boxing match. All it takes is 1 mistake/lapse of concentration and a skilled opponent to end a fight. For example I remember looking at the mayweather pacquiao fight there was one time mayweather lept in with a jab and left himself open, pacquiao covered up and backed up without striking, like a lot of people would. No doubt mcgregor would have acted on that opening and countered.

Fair enough. Boxing is not completely like the comparison I referenced, but that's just because of the hail mary aspect in boxing. Conor has ONLY this chance to win. No other. His defeat will be every bit as emphatic as Shefflin's to Roger, save the hail mary shot.

Might be the worst statement in relation to combat sports ever made.

It must be very insulting to poor old TBE to see that he is only 16-1 on to win...

This "there was one time where Mayweather leapt in with a jab" is what needs explaining....

What's wrong with them? It's the truth. When most fighters see their opponent about to strike they cover up and backup. Mcgregor rarely does this, always ready to counter every single time.

That is in a MMA fight ffs every single fighter McGregors fought in ufc there boxing has been terrible bar Diaz and that's good boxing for MMA, Your comparing how he'd react to one of best of our generation in a completely different sport there is no logic

    Ah come on.

Conor was literally drowning in lactic acid and could barely lift his arms at that stage.

He says he's been working on his cardio a lot (in between nitrous oxide 4-day-benders) so we'll see.

I expect he'll have the cardio dump from the middle of the 3rd to the end of the 5th (assuming he survives that long).
