Why do you find it funny to insult the faith of the majority of the people in this country. I find it crude arrogant and insulting .But you go on believing in nothing that must be very satisfying

Is it really a part of their faith that one day a young Irish boy will meet the virgin Mary whilst
on holiday and arrange to meet her in Knock a week later at 3pm later despite a language barrier? And people take it seriously? If it is part of their faith then I'm extremely satisfied to go on believing in nothing.

Strange how so many people in Ireland mock Muslims yet many of the same people believe this crap.

Religious fanatics are in all religions and here's a classic example.

Interesting that no priests are making any comments.

If a muslim suicide bomber hits Knock, does he get 72 virgin Marys?

Seems like it was mostly a gathering of travellers. Such a weird thing to happen in 2017.

Let me guess. It didn't happen?

It'll surely be caught on camera some day considering everyone has one now....

The airport runway must be in need of new tarmac. The timing of this is just impeccable.

You took the words right outta me mouth and I know just the man, a local lad of high renown who just happens to have a bit of free time on his hands and he'll be only too willing to cut the satin tape when the time comes when the last Wacker machine finishes wacking the tarmac...Kenny Airport has a nice ring to it.

I wonder are these things just an excuse for a day out and social gathering.

You're doing it wrong then. Also, I think they're supposed to be placed outside, under a bush.

Nah that's porno mags yer thinking of. I was brought up with the rule 'religious icons stay inside, above the hearth, jazz mags go in the bushes, concealed by earth' my grandmother was rarely wrong about stuff like that so I'll take her word for it on this one.

When I visited someone in a psychiatric hospital, most of the hallucinations the other women spoke of seemed to involve ''Our Lady''. Even the one really young, beautiful, normal looking girl who was only about ten years my senior and fairly edgy looking. She didn't seem the type.

    Any apparition?

The sun came out from behind a cloud and all the travelers started praying and saying it's a miracle, this isn't bulls**t there's a video going around on FB. In other news crime has fallen around the country but ironically gone up 800% in Knock.

Wonder did anybody show up and return home to find their house broken into?

It's funny isn't it and these people would consider themselves moral people as they are chasing a vision of a dead middle eastern woman from approx 2,000 years ago...

If going to knock is the extend of their fanatisism let them at it, but my tolerance ends when they go on a murder spree.

I don't see anyone insulting catholicism - having a laugh at the abject stupidity of an "apparition" to some 13 year old kid who suddenly understood Portuguese.

Anyone who believes that deserves fully to be ridiculed.

Not one Priest has come out supporting this sh1te and have distanced themselves from the crap.

Your premise that people who don't share your religious beliefs therefore "believe in nothing" is false. They might believe in reason, evidence, or any number of other things.

    In nothing ?
Maybe believing in reason and science is way more satisfying then a nonsenical book written by ignorant men who knew NOTHING of the planet they lived on.

Try looking at the milky way on a clear moonless night and just realize how insignificant we are and how amazing the universe is - then get back to us about a ghost appearing to a teenage kid in some kip in the west.

some years ago in a local village (Mountcharles), the graveyard care-taker re-painted a statue of Mary with white emulsion , and painted her heart (which was exposed on the bust of the statue) with gloss red paint.

When he left the graveyard he didn't realise the red gloss paint had dripped onto the white paint surrounding it... and before long a crowd had gathered thinking that this was some sort of miracle, Mary's heart was actually bleeding.
