Recommend a seaside town in France

Hi all,

We are currently on holidays near Martel in the Lot region in France, its my partners' birthday on Sunday and Id like to take him away for a night on the coast, ideally on the Bordeaux side of the coast (Rochefort to Arcachon or thereabouts).

Can any of ye recommend a nice seaside town/village to stay in? Id be looking for something that might have a bit of night life/good music/food and maybe nice beaches. We don't want to be out clubbing but something that is a bit lively for a night or two.

Sorry, I don't remember the names of the place where I stayed or cafés/restaurants I used (was about ten years ago).
