got a nice new large steel shed taking pride of place in the back garden. what would be the best option to put alongside the shed to reduce the chances of having pools of water in the wetter months. at the moment there is grass which I would prefer to keep as much of as I can. would a trench lined with a weed protection sheet filled with pebbles or stone work or something simple like planting something easily manageable like heather work. the side wont get direct sunlight.

A gutter and a water butt.

A gutter and a water butt.

This is a great idea but the butt will be full in an hour and so the same volume of water is getting to the ground.

Ideally gutter on the shed and pipe the runoff into a drain. The average back garden will struggle to get rid off that Much collected water.

Can you get access to a drain or ditch to connect in the water.
