I would assume that 40,000 would include all who entered to claim international protection and got asylum, sup protection or some type of leave to remain. That figure would include all people who arrived since 1995 so over 20 years.

If the process was faster then many of the humanitarian leave cases would not have got a positive result.

You assume. You assume wrong. Tell me how we could best ensure an expedient asylum process?

Not trying to be nasty, or even rude, but that right there is some serious naivety. Do you know many people who have moved here from abroad? Let's leave the (waaay overdiscussed imo) Muslims aside for a moment. Take the Lithuanians. Now, I know a lot of Lithuanians. A lot. I know loads of good ones, and I know LOADS of bad ones. Ones that are bad in ways that would give normal decent people nightmares.

They didn't come here for altruistic reasons. Not the bad ones. Trust me on that. (I'd go so far as to say forget worrying about the Muslims, they're an issue alright, but one that's a long way off - worry about the bad eggs amongst the Eastern Europeans, they're running amok as we speak - their Roma counterparts are not much better. You've a waay better chance of getting the good news from an Eastern European bad lad coming through your back door/nicking your new Audi than you do from ISIS).

That ^ will kick off some of the "Never been out muchers" who will cry racism etc etc, but I'm not. For every 100 hard working, decent, honest Immigrants that come to Ireland, 3 cnuts arrive mixed in with them. Usually, the cnuts are a scourge on their own as much as on everyone else. That's the joys of Multi-Culturalism. You don't just get the Jihadists or the Doctors, you get the forklift drivers and the Pimps, all mixed together.

I'm married to a Lithuanian so yes I know what them & the eastern Europeans are like. But none of them want to blow themselves up in the name of God. We need better deportation laws firstly so we can deal with anyone who causes problems. I lived/worked & have friends that are Muslim & I know what they are really like

Why are so many Muslims desperate to live in non Muslim countries?

It was my opinion on one post. Not the answer to all the worlds problems. :D I've no idea what the answer to Radical islam is. I dunno if there even is one. In the old days, there would have been a Battle in a field and stuff. I doubt that would fly nowadays. I'm crap with a sword anyways. I'll probably settle for sitting back and watching what unfolds. I just hope very few more attacks like last nights happen. I wouldn't be a fan of seeing innocent people dying because of someone elses Religious or Political Agenda.

Whether they are homegrown or not, the problem is radical Islam.

You know how not to have radical Islamists in your country? Temporary suspend letting any more migrants from the countries that produce the most terrorists.

If you discover a flood in your house, you can't fix the damage already done but the first thing you do is fix the leak to stop more water!

The UK has a very different make up to us and historical commitments to former colonies.
I think the chance that we get thousands all at once is very low. We have free movement within Europe, but we do control our immigration policy from outside the EU.

But I agree, we do need and we should expect new people to integrate property.

I've seen some TD's saying we should be taking on 12000 refugees.

All applications to Circuit Court for international protection followed by appeal to High Court. Then if not granted protection to minister for humanitarian leave to remain if not granted then deportation order.

Can you give me the figures as I assumed wrong!

Why are so many Muslims desperate to live in non Muslim countries?

So they don't get bombed by the Americans,British,Russians etc. Or beheaded, burned. thrown from buildings etc by isis.

Sort out the delays in the court system. Sometimes its taking years for court hearings to be scheduled.
If we invested some money in the appeals system, you'd make it back on not having the costs of direct provision for years for people who are refused refugee status at the end of it.

Meh, I dunno. Seems to be a lot of lads leaving, less so women and children. Why leave the family behind if it's so bad?

The majority of Muslims living in Ireland aren't fleeing anything.

All the ones that I know are well integrated. YMMV.

Yes but the same as other countries the ones that came years ago & set up business are not the problem. Its the ones coming now from war torn countries. The ones that have settled here left behind that world & now it is following them

Because the first people to be targeted by all sides are males of fighting age. What is the ratio of men to women fleeing to safety?

women and children are of far less importance to men in their culture in the middle east

Define "Safety". Is Calais unsafe? Is Greece "unsafe"? Why do so many want to stay going? I doubt "safety" really features tbh. Not even remotely.

Is that fact alright with you? Are you cool with that? Do you share that view? Women and children come first in my culture. It sits badly with me, the whole "men matter more" thing. It's one of my pet hates regarding "Islam". That and I like walking beside the wife holding hands. They frown on that too.

Mod-BalcombeSt4 do not post in this thread again.

I hereby declare that the next person who drags the IRA in to this discussion is getting at least a month ban.

He said stuff, he meant it. Get with the programme. He was right too.

I wonder will this thread be superceded by next weekend? Like the Manchester one? The pace is slightly scary.

Why are so many Irish Catholics desperate to live in non Catholic countries?
Why would it matter what your religion is?

Probably because these attacks have nothing to do with the IRA.

Are you asking why a trolling post and its replies were deleted? Because people will just keep taking the bait of the original post and it'll never end.

Now, back on the topic of the incident in London. Enough of this.

I am sick of hearing about extermists etc. especially from Ala Carte humanitarians.

In Saudi Arabia you dont get citizenship if you are not Muslim. Infact if you are born of a Muslim father and attempt to change religion, the punishment is severe. Death.

Tolerance, they simply dont do it.

The people (and I use that term very loosely) that carry out these terrosist attacks are doing so supposedly in the name of Islam, right in the middle of their holy month.

The good folk at the mosques know damn well who these are yet according to newpaper reports earlier in the year 2/3's of them wouldnt tip the police off about a terror attack etc. It is in their interest to support their claim that they are not the same as these supposed extremists.

The solution to change that mindset is simple. Threaten to shut down the mosques, if they dont change that mindset.

What about all the women and girls being raped and sold into slavery by Isis? They have plenty to flee from

Well it matters if your a woman and want to drive in Saudi Arabia.

Most Irish Catholics have distanced themselves from the Catholic church and choose to live in English speaking countries like Australia, Amercia, Canada and so fort.

They don't go to to Muslim countries in the middle east and demand that they change their culture to satisfy them.

Absolutely, if those men are fleeing ISIS and left their female relatives behind then they left them to a grim fate. It makes no sense.
