Why is it near impossible to get non skinny bootleg jeans?? I've tried four shops today to get the same as I already own. But noooooo. None.

I look like a robot trying to wear them. Awful yokes.

All I want is jeans with wider more comfortable leg and bootcut.

I dont care what the fashion is, just want them to feel comfortable.

Screw you jean making fascists. Wonder who I can blame for this?

They're going to be responsible for a lot of "men's issues" I'd say.

Just get 'straight cut' jeans if you don't want skinny/slim fit. Boot cut are horrendous looking yokes. Almost as bad as men in skinny jeans.

Yeah. Horrendous. Because everyone says they are.

Bootcut jeans were originally designed to accommodate people who wear cowboy boots. For some reason in the mid-90s/early-00s there was a weird phenomena in Ireland where this was one of the most popular jean styles for men. Anybody know why bootcut jeans were (and still are i guess) popular in Ireland but nowhere else outside Texas?

Perhaps you should try the 90's when bootcut was in fashion. Its time to catch up old man

Skinny jeans are just horrendous looking on guys. Especially into their 20s!

I always go for boot cut or loose as I've big calves. Even if I wanted to I couldn't fit my leg into them things.

    Can someone please explain?

Why are tracksuits 'not accepted' but not condemned like skinny jeans on a man?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 994 ✭✭✭Tilikum

Yeah. Horrendous. Because everyone says they are.

No. Because they look ridiculous with shoes or runners. They were designed for boots.

I like the way the Bootcut people are pretending that there are only two types of jeans available; Bootcut or Skinny.

Boot cut = **** is a meme, not a fact. Everyone jumped on the bandwagon one day.

I used to love boot cut jeans… that was until one day, I slipped on a pair of slim jeans. Now I have four pairs of boot cut gathering dust in my wardrobe.

I'm actually thinking of getting them altered to slim cut.

Slim fit jeans are ideal for men who are of a slim build. There seems to be a certain amount of the population who openly abhor any kind of slim fit/skinny jeans, even though they can look good on men.

If you really can't adapt to skinny jeans, or even slim fit ones, just buy a pair of dark straight cut jeans. As much as I try to be open towards boot cut jeans, they are simply horrific.

    Tubby legs. :D

The clue is kinda in the description. Skinny jeans should and often can only be worn by skinny people. If you're bigger of frame, via the process of cake or gym, they would be a nightmare.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

I was looking for jeans recently and found an entirely new abomination - skinny bootcut jeans.

I don't want skinny jeans. They're incredibly uncomfortable, always bunching up and cutting in behind the knees, I've never seen anyone they look good on - neither male nor female.
And now they even make my go-to choice of bootcut extra skinny. :(

The vast majority of jeans available are either Straight or Slim. Skinny is available too but not as popular.

Have you guys tried Bell bottoms? Probably as good a chance of getting them as Bootcut and pretty much the same style of jean.

Love the bootcut and flares are even better.

I am too old for skinny jeans and they look stoopid on anyone my age.

And what's with the no socks? I know they're probably wearing those insert things, but bare ankles?

Having said that, I am partial to the mod/ska look with too-short drainpipes (as skinny fit was called back then) with white socks. :)

Yeah the no socks thing looks 10 times worse.

My real worry is that I've already seen people with carrot jeans in the streets - they're going to be the next big come-back from the 80s, and I dread it.
