    Hi,
I have this Samsung tv & a Humax HDR-1100S (great box), cables to dish on roof.

Now we want Irish channels too so am wondering what are the Saorview options please?

It says here that's it's a Saorview tv and here that there's coverage.

I'm living in Lackagh (near Claregalway) in Galway. So are my options-
    1. get indoor aerial- true they're not really recommended?
    2. get an outdoor aerial- as I already have Freesat dish do I need another aerial for Saorview?
    3. get a box to be able to record, pause etc. & aerial.

What kind of prices are recommended record-able boxes please? Something basic would do.
What kinds of prices for aerial and installation please?

If I do get a box then when flicking between Saorview & Freesat channels I need to select the input on the remote each time- obviously no way around this I presume?

    Thanks,
    Pa

I use a humax freesat box and the pause button works as a source button on a Sony tv.

It can work fine, not ideal but if you are in a high signal area you might get away with it, personally I would try this first with a cheap €10-€15 aerial from Argos or some electronics place, Dealz sell a really cheap version if you want to try that.

Yes it needs to be a seperate aerial, there are some options that will attach to the dish bracket.

    3. get a box to be able to record, pause etc. & aerial.
You might be able to stick a USB drive in to your current TVs USB port and it will all you record record what it receives on Saorview.

I got this box in Powercity, originally they sold for 250, now they are 90. It's the only full Saorview PVR, the rest are boxes that you add a USB stick or external hard drive to.

There is in the near/not so near future a new fancy Saorview Connect PVR coming out, I would guess this is a good year plus away and priced at 250 plus. Details here if you wish to follow, I wouldn't bother waiting for it, just get the Walker box if it's dual recording you want.

I'd say somewhere around 150-200 supplied and fitted if nothing out of the ordinary is needed.
