For those running theirs 2-3 times a week, do you not find it begins to stink a bit?

If putting it on every other day, no, no stink. If left for a third day, which happens very occasionally, yeah maybe. But not always. I'm putting it on this evening, last time was Tuesday and there is no stink. It depends on what kind of staining is on the wares in there.

    2 adults, 2 kids here.

Do lots of home cooking from scratch and a lot of baking too.

Dishwasher runs every day, sometimes twice.

I let mine have a run out to the pub every evening, AFTER he's finished the dishes.

I'd love a dishwasher. Feckin hate washing up. To me they seem very fancy but everyone has one it seems.

Haven't used the dishwasher in 6 months.

Only use it now if we've had a crowd over and there is a heap of plates etc.

If I don't have time to clean my bowl & mug in the morning, I'll give it a quick rinse and fill it with water.

Then when I'm cooking dinner in the evening and standing around waiting, I'll clean up.

    Clean as you go, yo!

Twice a week usually. If I'm doing batch cooking etc at weekend it'd go on daily.
    Just me in the house.

Thanks for reminding me. I have been meaning to run it just to blow the cobwebs out of it

We have 6 bowls and 2 people here so we normally run the dishwasher once every 3 days when the bowls are all dirty and we want clean ones for breakfast the next morning

2 person household and I'd say it's been used 5 times in the last 2.5 years. Only when we have loads of guests for dinner

Two adults and it runs once per week. Sometimes twice, if we have people over.

    2 adults, 2 kids.

Run it about 4-5 times a week on average I'd say.

We never had one growing up. Always was dying to get one when I moved out as hated doing it by hand. It lived up to the hype, I wouldn't be without one now. Essential purchase imo.

We used to run it every second day but then along came the baby + that went out the window. Now it's everyday but sometimes there is still stuff let over + often it goes on twice on a Weekend day.

Never had a dishwasher. I don't think it would work here with with 4 strangers in a houseshare and everyone has their own utensils and dishes.

    Usually every 2nd day

People that run it 2 or 3 times aday......would it not save alot of time/energy to just buy a bigger one?

Takes too much time/energy to go shopping for a new one. Besides, cost half feck all to run.

Been in current house a bit under a year and used mine once because it for a free dishwasher tablet.

Don't have that much stuff to clean, so do it by hand generally.

5 of us, kids use as much or more delph than the adults. Dishwasher goes on every evening, full or half full, gets emptied every morning.

Afaic a dishwasher is the single best luxury item. I can easily cope without one but it's so so handy.

That's not a good idea. If you't use a dishwasher regularly it will break much more easily plus if for any reason there was water in the pipes that went stagnant it's a potential cause of legionnaires disease.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
