As the title says, when I open the bedroom door the ceiling or something in the ceiling creaks and groans. Same noise occurs when it's a bit windy and the bedroom window is open. As the title says, when I open the bedroom door the ceiling or something in the ceiling creaks and groans.

Same noise occurs when it's a bit windy and the bedroom window is open. As I'm typing this right now the ceiling is creaking and groaning every time a gust of wind comes in the window.

This is very annoying as I can't sleep with the window open due to the noise at night.

Any idea what's causing this so I can send the landlord a clear explanation of what's happening?

I'm guessing there is a gap up there somewhere which is causing the breeze to pass through when ever you open a window.
