No but we have giant squid.

It was more "Large Squid". Giant would be pushing it. It wasn't giant. Giant wouldn't have fitted in their ickle plastic box. My idea of giant is kinda "Dublin bus sized squid". No giant.

I think the real question is can we sue the schools when the sharks attack children in a playground?

The Shallows was pretty good too. But, they really should have cut out the whole family backstory part, it was totally unnecessary. Scriptwriters made a big error there.

I agree, there should of being more of the seagulls backstory...

That was caught a few weeks ago off the Clare coast. One of the biggest sharks seen in European waters.

You have more chance of having your balls bitten off by a whitrit in Ireland than your leg bitten off by a shark

These are the statistics they should be teaching in schools

You get Blue Sharks around Kinsale.

A bunch of us were out fishing and one of the lads got something big on his line,

Took three of us to hole the line at one particular time.

Even though the line he was using was the heaviest poundage, it gave way after nearly an hour.

Our boat pilot that day had radioed we had a shark and a lot of boats cane our way.

A Big American Tourist on one of the other boats got him in.

Later that night we saw the sharks carcass dumped in the water by the quay, the teeth had been removed.

Sad to see a beautiful creature end up been dumped there like that.

There have been a fair few reported sightings of Great Whites around these islands. They could certainly survive in this neck of the woods and there is a big enough seal population in places to sustain them, but whether these are just strays that show up, or consistent visitors is another matter.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

I recall one of the coast of Kerry about 4-5 years ago that had tracking on it and those tracking the shark were baffled at how it appeared just off the coast of our little island. I will try dig up a link.

They are evolving........using boats to fish rather than having to do all that swimming.

What's with the random missing letters?

Blue sharks and porbeagles are just as common, maybe even moreso. But basking sharks feed with their mouths open close to the surface, this combined with the sheer size of them means they are spotted much more frequently.Dogfish,(rock salmon) are sharks, not big sharks but if one clamped it's jaws on your fingers you'd know all about it.
