Yale Lock - lock on latch?

    Might be a stretch to call a lock a home security system, but I'm going with it. :)

    My previous door would only lock when the key was turned. Got a new door, and the door locks from outside when it closes. Installer says it's a security feature. I think i'm going to get myself locked out!

    It's a Yale lock. Would this be standard now?

    From a security point of view yes.
    You can have the bar extended to enable the handle to work on both side.
    Any locksmith should be able to help you out with this.
