Yep, I can't even remember last year's song

A song about Stalin's deportation of the Crimean Tatars? :o:o;)

I don't have a problem with Shirley Temple Bar per se nor with his right to comment but it was pretty mean spirited and belittling - I applauded Conchita when he won, all for diversity but I dislike the begrudgery ,fur whatever reason the tweet it was just nasty

It wasn't begrudery, I saw it as a light hearted aside at the winner of the Eurovision claiming a victory for real music, like if Ed Sheerin did it at the Smash Hits awards etc

What's with the guy that represented Ireland, never heard of him and when I heard the song for the first time I thought it was a girl singing. Very weird

Didn't care for the winning song, although apparently that makes me a miserly fan of brain dead Euro pop.

Am I going mad, or did they not have a different system in the voting last year where they used an algorithm to show the votes from certain countries last so that there wouldn't be a run away winner through the voting

Last year's winner was excellent, depth and quality.

They looked at Austria winning with a guy that looked like a girl (with a beard), and decided to send a guy that sounded like a girl!

Here are the Semi 1 results. Can't believe the juries killed off Finland, I thought they would have done well with them for sure. :( At least the juries redeemed themselves by killing off Estonia in Semi 2.

Latvia coming last is another shock! And Armenia only finished 7th, I thought they would have been challenging Portugal to win that semi tbh.

Ah, so your talking about the past, which doesn't really count.

Sorry, I didn't think it was feasible to discuss future events at the moment, especially since the ****ing time machine hasn't been invented yet.

Louis had a spare song from Westlife and a spare boyband singer from a recent flop- cheap as chips, as equally as appealing

So a clean sweep for Portugal then. :D

The televoters really didn't warm to Isaiah, did they? Or to Martina, for that matter...

Big disparity for Belgium there and again tonight. Much more popular with the public than the juries.

Ireland should shut down their national telly station to create a less costly one like the Israelis did .

Cost €337000 to send Nicky Byrne last year FFS.

Don't know what this year cost but he didn't get to stay in the same hotel as Louis. Probably stayed at the Y.

imagine Louis wouldn't mind sharing to save money!

How did the Irish jury not think the uk song wasn't worth even 1 point? It wasn't great but it wasn't that bad. I think when it didn't show in the initial points Graham thought they were going to get the 12. That was never going to happen but no points?

Did anyone else like the Hungary entry? It was my favourite song on the night!

Top 3 was Moldova and Portugal, so happy with the winner.

Well, Isaiah still finished ninth tonight... ;)

If the Aussies don't get thrown out as a result of moonie guy's actions, then they'll almost certainly be in Lisbon (or, indeed, Porto) next year. ;)

Poor Czech Republic never does well with televoters. I liked her performance and am glad the juries scored her well for it.

Isaiah had a very bad night in Semi 1 and the bum note in particular would have hurt him with the televoters. I'm assuming he hit that note perfectly in the jury final (or else avoided aiming for it). I actually think that's another good thing with the jury system; it doesn't all depend on one performance. Isaiah's clearly a good singer and probably did all his rehearsals very well, would have been a little harsh if one bad night ruined his chances. He sang much better in the final to justify his place there, though having said that I do think the juries overrated the song a bit.

The live performance in Semi 1 was certainly shaky but like Isaiah I think she did much better in the final. She was still nervous but also had more confidence.

If the staging had been better I reckon Belgium could have pipped Bulgaria to second place. They should have done something closer to the video.

Don't knock Australia. They are our only hope of hosting the Eurovision again

I didn't particularly like Hungary when I first heard it but it grew on me on repeated listens. It's one of the few cases in Eurovision where rapping actually worked!

I had put it 9th in my top ten, but that list included three songs that went out in the semi finals so it moved up to 6th place for me on the night.

I wish he'd gotten rid of the man bun though. There's never any excuse for a man bun!

Just been watching the winner's press conference from the link provided earlier - this guy comes across as very genuine and totally focused on his music , no agendas or political messages , just about the music - he actually said he wasn't concerned about whether the song got votes or not. Refreshingly candid, unassuming and no bull**** !

Highlight of the night? Definitely the brits thinking they were going to get 12 points of us and then getting **** all! :D Small victories and all that.

Yeah, but she was worth at least 1 point. who picks the jury? RTE?

Lots of tweets that Ireland sent a strong message with their votes:
    None for the UK
12 for the country that headquarters the EU.
