That would have been great ! I mean no, I mean ...

Serious question : can you only get infected if you click on a link in an email ?
(I don't click dodgy links in emails *smug*)

According to the article it is a worm that infects any vulnerable computers in a network. No need to click links or open attachments.

    It's everywhere.:(
Your only hope is feck the PC into a van. Lock, stock and barrel. I read that on the internet - some techy chap said it. Use a neighbours van if you don't have one of your own. This sh*t is serious. :(

I think LinkedIn has been hacked - I went on, planning on selling Caddies and Incas to everyone I know there and it's going "Ohhh, It's not you, it's Us". So either they've dumped me or NASA, Trump, the NHS and the shadowey fcukers have hacked them too.

Keep Windows up to date to prevent it.
Only those who didn't apply the March security update are vulnerable.

But if they get their millions in bit coin will they not be caught when they try to change it from virtual money to real money, talking of which how exactly do you change virtual bit coin money in non virtual/ real money.

My understanding is that it is currency converted to data which is used to trade online and buy services, drugs, gambling etc., the pro being that it is difficult to trace and can be used on the 'dark web' where all these lovely people hang out. It's a subversive economy and a volatile one, but so is our own but less traceable. The founder of bitcoin has withdrawn from digital society, has become a political activist of sorts and really hates what he created.

I just checked and I had one March security update, but a second one in March hasn't worked (I may have repeatedly refused to let it :o).
So I'm installing it now, better late than never !

Worth noting some of us have an interest in bitcoin for other reasons too. I own bitcoin but I've never been on the dark web.

I don't know where you heard this but it isn't true except for the fact that he/she/they stopped communicating as Satoshi Nakamoto online giving no explanation except "I’ve moved on to other things...”

How do you know someone runs linux?
Too late, they've already told you.

The timing of this is impeccable isn't it? With the light of recent events... eh?

Reminds me, I need to buy tinfoil.

You are correct, I confused the founder with someone else. I was thinking in the context of the breaking story why bitcoin is the preferred currency of the hackers.
