Brian cody said yesterday at the launch of the leinster championship that his confident padraig walsh will be fit for june 10th and ger alwyard will be back for Glenmore in the coming weeks so that's good news. He also said theres no time on mick fennelly

Padraig Walsh seemingly has a broken bone in his heel, very hard to see how that will be right in time to allow him be fully fit with enough training behind him for Wexford in 5 weeks. Obviously Cody is going to say he will be fit at this stage.

Was talking to Padraigs next door neighbour today and she said they seem confident he'll be ok for the 10th of June.

She would say that, would'nt she.

Alyward originally due to tog out tonight but Iv heard he be pulled from playing tonight now and the hope now is he plays the in the round of games in two weeks time instead. Will surely need to see some kind of action in that round if to have any hope of making the Wexford game. I expect to see Walsh back in time for June 10th

Deserved win by Clara against Ballyhale with a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-17. Ballyhale were highly dependent on TJ to win frees and convert them, he caught a lot of good ball. No one back from injury. Joey Holden had another decent game, seems to be more confident. Chris Bolger got four points from play for Clara and was good. Conor O'Shea started for Clara, did ok. Lester Ryan came on as a sub in the second half. Overall, Clara had a better balance and a greater spread of scorers.
Ger Aylward is not on the Glenmore panel this weekend but Kevin Kelly is listed to start at full forward.
Good wins for Tullaroan against Fenians and Graig Ballycallan against Glenmore

Agreed with above clara deserving winners over ballyhale who seem to be down a lot of regulars granted clara also missing a few.tj was carrying the can up front on his own and his fielding and touch was top drawer. Dissapointed with colin but joey was steady. Bolger was lively for clara
Just on the programme thing there was a few changes on both sides tonight especially clara so teams could be different again the matches are played.Someone else here said ger wasn't playing till round 3.Richie leahy not listed either I did c him at the match tonight hopefully himself alwyard and kelly get some gametime soon

Attitude, effort and body language of Colin Fennelly was extremely poor tonight and wasn't much better in the previous round against Dicksboro.

Just in from Boro Rower. Lively game that could've gone either way. At half-time it looked like Comer were in the driving seat having played into the breeze and only 1 pt down. The Rower didn't lie down and Comer weren't as clinical as they should've been up front in the second half. For Comer Fogarty, Eoin Brennan and Conor Delaney stood out at the back. Aidan Moran, Michael Murphy and Daly were the pick up front. For Rower Joe Lyng gave a display of catching at LHB. Ryan at corner and Joyce were solid at the back. Joyce looks slimmer. Motm for me was Ciaran Ryan at MF. Pat Lyng was full of running and gave Fogarty plenty to think about. No sign of Richie Leahy.

Carrickshock beat St Martins 0-18 to 1-14

Was at the shocks Martins game. Shocks started terribly and were 4 or 5 down before their 1st score but they got back level to lead before half time. Looked like they would finish off Martins midway through 2nd half but mcgrath launched a long range free which broke in the square and mulhall(I think) finished off the ground. Fairly tit for tat last few mins for shocks to scrape it by a point. Muckalee definitely missed more chances during game.

I didn't have a program so not 100% percent sure of some of the names for Muckalee but Shore half forward looked OK. Tom Breen was dangerous in spells. Mulhall wasn't good at all and missed 2 handy scores at an important stage.maher still tipping away at corner forward wasn't bad Fullback (paddy Nolan?) Was solid.
For shocks Dalton solid as usual. Eanna martin had another good game as did Mark o dywer. Mick rice was top class some of the flicks and touches were outrageous. John power pulled the hamstring early in 1st half and limped off he's having no luck this year.

John Power limped off after 15 minutes as Carrickshock beat Martin's by 0-18 to 1-14. It looked like it was going to be an easy victory for Shock as they took a 6 point lead in the second half but Martin's came back with a goal and had chances to draw or even win the game. Kevin Farrell scored 11 points including 3 from play. Michael Rice may be a bit slower but he made good use of the ball.

According to the programme he was no. 5. He wouldn't have caught my eye as much as those mentioned.

Shows how tight things are. 1 out of 8 so far.

I would have went with most of those predictions aswell. So tight in both grades. If shamrocks lose to the village next week there's a good chance they'll be in a relegation semi.

The Shamrocks have very inexperienced players out so far they seem to be missing a good few they obviously have their eye on the bigger picture.good result from mullinavat against olg after a poor performance in the first round

Even with a full team there backs aren't great. But clearly have quality forwards. They were always such a huge goal threat at all times but this year so far and even the times I seen them last year they seem to have lost that.

Boro steal it at the death to win. Village only have themselves to blame having squandered several goal chances during the game. They lead for practically the whole game and looked comfortable. With probably their only goal chance of the game Ollie Walsh kicked it to the net late on. That score spurred them on to an unlikely looking victory. Buckley, Walsh, Cody were strong at the back and MF for the Boro. Up front it was subs Gough and Flynn who augmented a line lead by Stapleton.
For the Village Scanlon was my Motm. Very quick and eager to take on the Boro defence at every opportunity. Gave Buckley plenty of trouble in the second half. Jackie and Larks lead their lines as usual. Special mention to Brassil who came on and scored three quickfire pts.

It was Cody decisions to pull the plug on Aylward and Kelly from this weekends action which in my opinion is quite hard on the clubs. The two lads along with Mick Fennelly and Darren Mullen did a fitness training session with Dempsey on Saturday morning

Any idea how it went?is darren mullen in with the seniors?I was thinking it was codys decision when he said during the week that ger will hopefully see gametime in round 3.I presume the players are back with the county next week

By all accounts it was a very tough running session.Mullen not on senior panel as such but has been injured last while and with U21's out in 3 weeks time I believe that the reason why he was in doing the session. He and Eoin Reid will be available next day for Ballyhale. Yes players back training with county tonight and as far as I know Kelly and Aylward to play for clubs in the next round

Was in at the Danesfort v Bennetsbridge game yesterday. Goals proved the decisive factor yesterday. Danesfort coudnt get back in the game yesterday after conceding 3 goals. Paul Murphy was poor again yesterday, was hoping to see an improvement in form from him. Other county players did ok

Thoughts on how few of county players played at the weekend:

TJ hurled well, touch was top class as always, ballyhale were very reliant on him

Joey looked more comfortable at centre back and half back and hurled well

Colin Fennelly seemed to be floating around and wasn't massively involved

Lester came on and played well, worked hard as always and picked off a lovely score

Conor o Shea hurled half back and was solid without tearing it up

Shane Pender was also solid and was marking tj for most of game

Jonjo Farrell was double marked by Freshford but still hurled well, scored an excellent goal but if striking was better could have scored about 2-5

James Maher looked Of the pace, ran into contact a lot and got turned over a good bit, seems selfish on the ball

Cillian Buckley had a tough battle with Larkin in the first half and Luke scanlon in the second but probably broke even overall. Scanlon caused a good few problems travelling down the middle.

Evan Cody did OK but will need to improve to get in the shake up

Richie Hogan got some great scores but overall Enda Morrissey won that battle for me, is he in the senior panel if not he should be as he was very impressive.

Jason cleere looks great on the ball and uses it extremely well just hope he can command the game more.

Liam Blanchfield didn't get on much ball and had little influence

Rob Lennon seemed sharper coming out to the ball than I had seen him before but I would be worried about him being turned against top class full forwards.

Paul Murphy first touch seemed very poor and that is not the first time lately.

Other notable mentions from games I attended for Liam Ryan from Clara, John Donnelly for ttown, Simon Rafter from freshford, Cathal o Neill second half for danesfort who all hurled well.
