I love human names on dogs. Like Jonathan or Michael, or some of the ones mentioned here.

I did know a little dog called Batman once and he loved it.

Note: That auto-corrected to Barman there for a sec, which might also be cool!

A neighbour of my parents called their old English sheep dog 'Woof'. Always got a laugh out of us when we heard them calling the dog.

I got a dog when I was 6. We only had him for 6 days (long story) and at the time I was fascinated by the fact all my middle names were from my grandparents so I decided the dog should be the same so I persecuted my dad to get all this. Given that he had bought the dog in the pub I now realise he probably just made them up but the dog was named Toby Scamp Rover Bran Scamper. We had a christening.

Anyway my mother who never wanted a dog was up all night for the first number of days as the pup cried all night and she used to take him out in the car to try to get him to sleep, meeting my aunt with my cousin who was doing the same thing.
And it cost my dad a fortune in shirts as the pup used jump up to the rotary line and swing round on them.

Anyway after a week a family friend's dog died and we donated the dog to them.

He was renamed Patch and we had visiting rights. He died in 2000.

I know someone who called his dog a Spanish/Mexican sounding name - pronounced Dee-ooh-gee. (D.O.G)

I thought it was clever :)

He also had a cat called cee-aa-tee (C.A.T)

I feel so sorry for a dog that was adopted by a woman who decided to call him Boy.

Why? Was the dog unhappy? I doubt he cared much.

'Down' or 'Stop' as inevitably you spend the first 6 months shouting both of those words at them.

    Syndrome.

So when the dog jumps up at you, you can shout "Down Syndrome"
