Maybe you're just wearing the wrong size. Have you got fitted professionally?

Going out on a limb, I'm going to go with "The wrong place". I may be wrong though. But I doubt it.

What you need to do is get a 10mm and then buy a 2mm brass plate shaver and shave the 2mm off it.

I think you can buy that in 2mmbrassshaver.ie

Says yer man that cant use Google.

You knew you were in the wrong place but you were too lazy to find the right one.

Why not pop into an engravers and ask where they get theirs? Or a builders providers.

Not being harsh Digger old son, but someone comes onto AH, looking for 8mm brass plate, then gets snotty because they get snarky replies? Were you headed for DD and then took a wrong turn? "I need some 8mm Brass plate -I know, I'll post that up on After Hours on Boards..because all them are experts on metal sheets and ****.."

Check yourself lad, before you wreck yourself.

He wants it for his door to signify that he is an important man

Is there any other obscure queries the good folk of AH can help you with at this fine hour?

Maybe a roll of duct tape strong enough to keep a turtle taped to a ceiling fan at full tilt but it has to be rainbow coloured duct tape, made in southern Guam by extremely tall siamese midget triplets called Barry, Garry and Larry.

I know where I can get you that.

He's planning on making a nametag, so he doesn't forget his own name. 8mm is overkill - 2mm would do.

Try James Healy in JFK industrial estate.

I've used them a lot in the past but for copper plates. They do brass too. Whatcha gonna do with 8mm?

Petersons you say? Are they very old school? I've heard good things about them in the past.

I imagine 8mm thick is going to cost €€€€. It might be possible to get a thinner sheet and fold it to shape.

Let's buy twice the area in 4mm and fold it in half to make 8mm because it's cheaper yea you're a winner alright.

Didn't all Petersons emigrate to Amerstralia or somewhere:confused:

I believe the Recession did most of them in. The torch situation grew very dim for a good while.
