Ireland wasn't so different 35 years ago in regards viewing the worthlessness of life of a gay man

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declan_Flynn

We much speak out against the horrors in Chechnya - it has no place in civilised society.

It doesn't give us a carte blanche to ignore the plight of refugees either, some only seem concerned for rights of others to mask xenophobia and racism.

There were some people on another thread trying to make out that Chechnya is run by Russia so its not Muslims that are doing it.

It would cost a lot less & be beneficial to a lot more refugees if they stay in the Middle East or Africa. There are so many countries that are not at war

Do they only capture the gay men when there's proof that they're gay? I'm sure there's less flamboyant behaviour from the gays over there to avoid suspicion.

maybe if she wasn't wearing such a short skirt she wouldn't have aroused him...

    nobody is "asking for it"

Cost a lot less for whom??? Have we no responsibility or basic human nature to help our fellow man?

We're only citizens of the West through accident of birth

We would be helping our fellow man, closer to their own countries
So how many should we take in??

This is just sick and sad. Chechnya using gay men as scapegoats and Putin playing a cynical game of politics over the situation.

Yeah? I'm sure there is. Don't you think so? How is that victim blaming?

And what does this topic have to with refugees?

If you can't see why, I won't waste my time trying to explain it to you.

Members of the lgbt community are bribed to give names of other gay people they know, families are also advised to give away names of gay family members or murder them themselves

But would the gay people giving the names of other gay people not be revealing themselves? They take a bit of money but it won't be worth much to them when they're dead.

You didn't. You clearly misunderstood what I said, you realise that now but you don't want to admit it. I'm embarrassed for you.

Why is it that members of the LGBTQ would rather protest Trump, with their pink pussy hats & burka's etc but do nothing about " gay concentration camps in Chechnya "? Oh right Trump is the big bad boogey man

Maybe they gave immunity to some gay people if they rewarded them with lots and lots of names of other gay people, for instance. I don't know, all I heard on the news was that members of the lgbt community were bribed to give names of other gay men they knew

This really annoys me too! Fair enough if you live in America, maybe, but I see so many rants on Facebook all the time from people in ireland about Trump, when theres so many more genuinely evil leaders all over the world, it just makes it seem so petty

Whats worse is that Trump is pro LGBTQ & they took the whole " grab the pussy " thing out of context

Or maybe its not a financial bribe and they used means of spying or surveillance to find out somebody was gay, and then threatened they'd kill them if they didnt give away names of other people
Im sure theres more to it than we know and I'm sure theres lots of individual cases
