@ WishboneAsh - that lives up that direction. See it around the area regular.
Yes, I've seen in around on the move a few times when I'm heading up or down the Military Road on the bike but today was the first time I've seen it parked up.

    Azerbaijan?

(The mirrors don't look original on that Merc).

You are right about the mirrors not sure about the reg!

75 Jag near Roscommon (sorry it's far away, lad in shop giving me funny looks). Was parked up beside a shop, but looks in regular use.

How does that work, is it like the craic with the Land Rover/Range Rover changed chassis etc....

    Take plates of 75 Daimler
Put plates on modern jag, that to an untrained eye looks like a classic in good condition

Impossible to change the chassis in one of those as it's unibody, I can accept the land rovers as there is a procedure to make them legal, weather that procedure is carried out is debatable but that jag is simply taking the piss. Goes to show how little the relevant authorities care about ringing.

    Like me, like :)

No, I knew something wasn't adding up, hence the picture.

Are there not generally any legal niceties around this, why doesn't everyone do it?

I doubt you'd need much schooling in cars to quickly realise that jag was not 1985 let alone 1975. Stevie Wonder could tell you that's a wrong un.

    Doesn't take a rocket scientist.
Phone cops reporting a suspected stolen car with false plates.

Merc & Fiat in Greystones - the 200D is a regular enough daily driver, great to see such a venerable old gal still on the go
The Fiat looks like a top notch resto, the interior was immaculate, piped cream/red leather.
For fear of upsetting the rotary heads, does an RX7 fall into classic territory? I'm sure it does, spotted in Tallaght

I put anything over 20 years in the "oldest car" thread, and anything over 30 years in this thread. That's just me though.

This was lovely. I miss having a classic on the road for days like this. Spotted in Howth

    You'd know 'Arthur'! :D

Funny, I saw an episode of 'The Professionals' on ITV last week and there was a white Capri in it. It's reg started with 'SLE' ...the same as the one used by Terry in 'Minder' ..a shared 'studio car' perhaps?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,984 ✭✭✭✭elperello

Terry's Capri was sold at auction last year and funnily enough made more than Arfur's motor.
