It's Conor the star are alluding to.

Stokes has direct links to RIRA eejits himself, he's not going to be getting into trouble with them for slapping a young lad.

If this story is true its a reality check, he needs a kick up the boll0x at this stage.

I did see a Facebook post about him banjoing someone in liverpool while over there. was from a lad who works the doors there.

but the lad in question is also a massive whizz head so took it with a pinch of salt.

Can we please get him back in there before he wraps that Rolls around a tree taking selfie videos while driving and never wearing a seat-belt, that'd be tremendous also.

Conor at the moment reminds me of that quote from Private Parts, The Howard Stern movie, it goes something like...."His fans listen to him and love him, those who hate him watch/listen in to see what he's going to do next"

    That's been his entire career

How many have you ordered Wonder?

25 euro not in my budget :/

They've flogged 3,000 of them already in 2 days! I suppose if it's a limited edition they might have some collectors value in decades to come.

That's just a ploy to get suckers to buy them.
Slim chance of it having more value in the future.

Tony says "He's all on McGregor's nuts like a bad ex-girlfriend. Gotta move on dude. You're ranked what 8 or 9 don't you wanna do better than that? You're scared homie."

Gotta agree with tony on this one. Diaz needs to got off the sofa and fight someone before mcgregor

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

The rematch was epic, so was 7 minutes of the first fight lol but we've seen them go to war what else do people want to see between Diaz and McGregor I've seen 6 rounds of it would rather him fight a different style instead of Diaz for a 3rd time really doesnt interest me.

Ferguson is right - Diaz takes this fight now, and he wins he's 'interim champ' and has guaranteed his 3rd McGregor payday next - while making a decent chunk as a PPV headliner (He'll be on PPV points for this fight - also tests his own drawing power).

If he loses - he fights someone like Poirer for a W and the McGregor rubber match is still there as a payday.

    Back himself basically.

    Sounds about right

He's not fighting anyone except McGregor.

The difference in money in fighting him vs anyone else is gigantic, plus he would risk losing that rubber match if he gets beaten, which is a distinct possibility.

So wait around for a gigantic payday to fight a guy you've beaten already and fought twice, or take chump change to fight a very dangerous contender you've never fought.

Chump change my arse Ferguson fight for an interim belt is worth Millions to him win or lose plus a win would make the Conor match the biggest in mma history.

Nate obviously doesn't have the confidence of getting the win over Ferguson.

That's where Nate differs enormously from Conor.

McGregor never shys away from a fight - took on loads of fights at short notice, even dodgy ones like Mendes when he could have sat out and waited for Aldo.

    Nate knows his worth.

What that has to do with mcgregor taking short notice fights?

I think hes enjoying being rich finally, milking it, hard to motivate him now that hes worth millions, if he never fights again dont think it would bother Nate.

Unfortunately for Ferguson, i think McGregor and Nate are both of the same mindset at the moment, hold out for the big one and risk nothing in between.

On the Mayweather stuff, it will be funny when hes back in mma in a few months and the journalists like Helwani that have pushed it as if its happening will be saying hes a genius for keeping his name in the headlines while he was out for his maternity break, the mma media are a gang of fanboy geeks.

It's chump change in every way compared to a Conor fight obviously.

Nate doesn't need the money. The rubber match will be the biggest fight in MMA history without Nate fighting anyone in between.

I don't think sitting out helps Diaz. If he sits out for a long time (18 months plus) then most people's interest in it would wane. Conor has improved a lot in a short space of time. If he keeps getting better and Diaz sits out then people will feel a third fight won't be as close and would lose interest.

Whereas if Diaz has a few more fights between now and hypothetical McGregor-Diaz 3, and he pulls off some impressive performances it will build the fight up massively, especially if the two of them shít talk each other a bit between now and the third fight.

But he's sitting on a winning lotto ticket, if he loses a fight it will be WAY harder to match him up with mgregor. If he doesn't fight there's still that mystique and what if (seeing as they were so evenly matched when they last fought).

    This is a McGregor thread?

Yes, correct but why is nate waiting for big money to fight got to do with taking a short notice fight?

Nate sees mcgregor demands big money and he does same.

    Nate knows his worth.

    He knows his worth?

Can we please put to bed this narrative of Nate Diaz being some huge draw before he fought Conor?

Guess how many PPV's Nate has headlined in his 22 UFC Fights (21 if excluding TUF Finale)?

2 is the answer. I wonder who those were against......

UFC Fight Night 20, Diaz v Maynard averaged 1.7 million Viewers on Spike, down 30% on the previous handful of cards.

Nate headlined UFC on Fox 3 against Jim Miller. The previous UFC on Fox 2 drew an average of 4.7 million viewers.

UFC on Fox 3? 2.4 million viewers.

His BEST ever free tv showing was UFC on Fox 5 when he challenged Benson for the LW strap, fought to a decision and averaged 4.4 million viewers in a title fight. Good but not earth shattering.

None of the numbers point to Nate being a massive draw without Conor so the narrative that he knows his worth or deserves $20 million to fight anyone else is a joke.

    Nate ain't Conor.

But he's sitting on a winning lotto ticket, if he loses a fight it will be WAY harder to match him up with mgregor. If he doesn't fight there's still that mystique and what if (seeing as they were so evenly matched when they last fought).

The trilogy is in the back pocket for the UFC. Even if both Nate and Conor go on 0-2 streaks, the trilogy will always be there for them to settle the score.
