23ºC!!! How do you survive that heat?

    By only wearing a t-shirt,

Started of at 20 and kept going up til I felt comfortable

Hertz logo on the rev counter: is that a sticker on top of the display?

Yes, they like to put stickers everywhere, except they never bother in the U.K. to put the 'Drive on the Left' sticker on that they use in Ireland!

New beepbeep. I know it's not quite up there with most of the motors posted here, but I think I'm in love.

Lovely car. Probably the only Alfa I think is nice looking, and the only one I'd willingly drive.

    Is she petrol or diesel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,002 ✭✭✭acri

1.9 JTDM. I've never had a diesel with so much poke. Took her through a 200km spin to stretch the legs and really just open it up. You actually have to be careful not to cruise past 120kph it's so effortless.

Picked up today. 100km on it now.. another 900 before I can actually test it out properly.

With the Rally of the Lakes on this weekend, I thought I'd finally burst my Healy Pass cherry and do a bit of camera location scouting before the event on Saturday. Now that I'm living in Kerry with Work, I wasn't expecting it to be nearly 2 hours driving before finally hitting 'The Pass', so it was nearly 9pm by the time I got to enjoy it, but good god is it an incredible stretch of road.

As you can see by the pictures, Im back behind the wheel of the Puglet. The bloody Alfa is broken again, its been on 3 AA recovery trucks in the 6 weeks I've owned it, so the Pug is yet again proving the ever reliable daily driver. It deceided it didnt like the standard, NCT Spec exhaust backbox, and promptly sent that spiraling down the road one day. The sham spec straight pipe is back on for now, and I forgot that it induces bapping tourettes. The Pug is also sporting a redesigned passo wing, when another driver decided at the last minute to fly across roundabout lanes!!

Need to take the 4x4 badge off the back this weekend for the full 1.6tdi 120 look.

Yay the Puglet! \0/ :D Man and car after my own heart. Light, loud, daft and reliable as fook. Pure. Love that car.

First thing I checked last night :)

About 48k to start. The config wouldn't work for me so no idea what options are extra, but id say it's pretty well kitted out as standard.

A photo of my wagon down in Inistioge, Kilkenny. Could do with the 17" version of those wheels so I'm half looking on the usual pages. Very nice car to drive in my opinion and moves and handles surprisingly well for it's size.

I'm sure it's a nice car no doubt.

But....€50k for the budget VW brand...is that completely missing the point? :D

Obviously each to their own, but goodness, €50k on a four pot Skoda....

Would fifty grand get you anything more than a four pot Audi or BMW?

No.. it wouldn't. An A6 150 TDI (s-line blk edition) manual came in around the same price, and I know which I prefer more :)

Anyway... I guess I will have to live with 'only' having a 4 pot that produces 280ps :)

    I think it would

But as someone else said, each to their own.
