New website today for smyths is dreadful, Kirby hasn't been on the site with the amiibo in months now anyone with eyes that work there is a six digit code on the sticker you can call a store and quote them that number for them to do a stock enquiry for you, can't make it out myself.

if it's on clearance and you're not in Cork, Sligo or the other store in Limerick (it's never the one you're in) then it's not in store...

Edit : worth checking if you're after the Yoshi + Poochy bundle for €38, its showing up in stock in a few places with Cick'n'Collect. Remains to be seen if they'll honour it...

I picked up a Switch in CeX on Liffey Street. There was no joycon grip in the box. I went back in and they just didn't want to deal with me. Two of them stood there with blank expressions on their faces and the third flat out didn't believe me, yet he was the first to walk away because he didn't want to deal with the situation. I couldn't be bothered looking for a refund. I reminded them to check incoming boxes for all of their contents before putting them on the shelf then I cut my losses and picked up a grip in Argos. I won't purchase hardware from them again.

  • My new gets incoming:

    Pikmin 3
    Wonderful 101
    Twilight Princess HD

    Nice!

If you have any Gold Points about to expire on MyNintendo, you can cash them in for the Pikmin 3 DLC.

I haven't copped how to sue that yet! I have some unclaimed ones also in the games I purchased (Playing through Bayonetta 2 at the moment and there looks to be one in the game case)

Do you just sign into the Nintendo site and claim?

You can't claim Stars points any more, that closed down over a year ago, sorry.

Gold points are for Downloads from the eShop - link your NNID to your MyNintendo account and it'll sort out the rest by itself. Can't remember if you're Zeldaing on WiiU or Switch - If you bought a Switch you can register the retail cartridge for a small amount of Gold points - there's a sub-menu option after you highlight the game. Fecked if I can remember how to do it.

The DLC for Pikmin ain't cheap - it's 20 or 30 gold coins per bit and they're not very substantial as far as I can see, but it beats letting points expire.

I am playing Zelda on the Switch
I had a problem with linking my Switch and Wii U accounts
Basically I had a Wii U before and it wouldn't allow me use the same account again on a different Wii U
So I have the annoying problem of having a separate account for both my Switch and my Wii U even though they are both technically linked to my Nintendo account in some way
I find Nintendos handling of accounts massively convoluted :/

You let them off way too easy.

I would have gotten the grip or my money back for sure.

I think "make sure the customer knows you don't give a ****" is in the CEX franchise pack. Quality wanker move there with your Joycon.

Then again, if you had folk trying to sell you stolen tat all day with the most convoluted excuses, you'd be pretty jaded, so I'm 50/50 on the whole thing.

Caveat : CheckSmyths can't see it anywhere. The new Smyths site found a few in dundalk, fonthill and elsewhere. It proves nothing till they honour a click n collect

How much did you actually save getting it from them?

As opposed to buying it new?

And then having to buy the grips?

Did the switch say boxed or unboxed on the receipt buying from cex 99/100 you get everything but it is a second hand store so you get what you get really.

I couldn't get it new anywhere. It was payday yesterday and I fancied splashing out. I didn't care so much about the price. I'll know next time!

    I agree.

I was going to have to cart the Switch back to Dublin (I commute each day) and then pay for transport in and out. I was only losing out on about €5 by having to buy a grip in Argos. Of course there's the principal of the matter and in that respect I let them off. I just found their millennial disinterest nauseating. Happy to see the back of them.

Hey sorry just saw your posts now. I don't have any of those unfortunately, was on the hunt for those myself.

I'd swap for a boxed Tom Nook amiibo and an Amiibo stand
Sold! Where do you want to meet?

BTW, the stand is unboxed and my kids cut the box up into tiny pieces this morning, is that ok?
    It's fine
    Sound!

Had never even seen this in stock in my local Gamestop before, pretty good for the Limited Edition. Only one they had it seems and have no idea if it was just store specific.
