Why dream? Theories?

Neurobiological theory. Activation-synthesis hypothesis. Dreams have no meaning. Only electrical brain impulses. Random thoughts. Random memory images. Humans reconstruct dream stories as they awake. Comments? Other theories?

Are you taking liberties with Michael D. Cohen's PhD dissertation from UC Irvine (1972) and applying it to dream interpretation, along with his post-doc studies with James G. March and Johan Olsen in the "Garbage Can Model of Organizational Choice" (i.e., decontextualising from one research topic to another)? Whoa!
