Skoda Octavia wing mirror wiring

    So my Dad's passenger wing mirror was damaged and whole unit needed replacing. While replacing the passenger indicator part I noticed the the wiring is soldered directly into the indicator light but the new fitting is expecting a plug. I guess it was some revision to the design which makes sense but not sure what I need to do now.
    Can I go ahead and just solder the old wiring directly into the new? There does seem to be a part available but £12 plus shipping seems a bit high for a simple plug, any other alternatives? I'd prefer a plug rather than hard wiring. He's getting older so may not be the only time this happens! :D

    Could you crimp a suitable sized terminal onto each wire and then push them on to the plug ; it appears only the 2 outer wires are used .

    Yes, that's probably what I had in mind. I was just hoping someone had done similar and could confirm it works. I'm not with the car until the weekend so I can only go by the photographs

    Just go ahead and solder, if it's 2 wires to 2 it's gona gona be straight forward.

    Maybe solder a length to each wire on the mirror to give you more to work with and then you can twist and put tape on the actual join cause it's gona be too hard to hold the weight of the mirror and solder

    Yes I rambert fitting a new indicator to a octaves mirror and this adapter came with it from skoda.
    Unfortunately I can't remember if it's just simple one to one wiring or if there is more to it.

    So i finally got around to doing this for my Dad. I crimped on a couple of plugs and soldered them in place. Then connected them directly to the new indicator and bingo we have light. So the £12 adaptor cable is really a waste and most likely not needed.
