    Hey Folks.
Just wondering if there is anyone out there with a current spec gt line. I am looking at the 1.0 turbo petrol. Only doing about 15k a year. Currently driving a 2.0 tdi. 140bhp. Test drove the 1.0 petrol 120bhp and the 1.6 diesel today. From reading reviews I had expected the petrol to be a little nippier. Diesel sounded loud and to be honest I had my mind set on going back to petrol after a few a4s. Couldn't justify paying 25k for an audi with the bones of 100k up on so with the petrol ceed gt line at 23k with 3 years free servicing and 7 year warranty it seems to be the way 2 go. Would be interested in some feed back from anyone with any experience of it. Thanks.

I had a nosey around one a few weeks ago. I think it's a cracking car if you're realistic about what the engine is capable of performance and economy wise.
    Are you dong much mileage?

Hi. No. Commute to work is about 15k return. Most country roads. Have to say having driven audi over the last few years I could not fault them but I just can't justify the price of them anymore. There seems to be ok value in a 3 or 4 year old Audi but at that stage ur on your own. No warranty and the bones of 100k on the clock. So I'm looking at going a completely different road with the Kia. I guess every engine in this cat range is going to seem a bit gutless compared to the a4 that had plenty of poke. Not a hard driver and I think the less torcey petrol may just take a bit of getting used to. No interest in auris or focus and I just can't bear the sight of the golf interior for some reason.

I think the interior on the GT line is lovely.

Ya. It's easy on the eye alright. Not sure if the 7 inch screen can be got as an extra. Seen it on a few English gt tech models. Think I better go drive it again tomorrow just to reassure myself😂

Have a look at the Auris 1.2 D-4T Luna as well.

The Hyundai i30 might be worth considering too as they are doing the trade in bonuses on them, same basic thing as the Ceed, albeit less stylish.

Any love for the New Megane? Lots of tech/spec at reasonable price? 5 Year Warranty and very solid Engine and gearboxes

Agree completely with you about the megane. Especially the tourer version in the new blue colour. Lovely looking car. But unfortunately I have this idea when it comes to any of them PSA group cars is that once you buy that brand you are kind of stuck with them. No other dealer will want to see you coming with a Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, etc. Will be looking to change again in 2 or 3 yrs time and I think I would have a better hand if I was trading the Kia which would still have 5 yrs left in the warranty. Thanks for the feedback though.

Fair point. I think that attitude is changing now, especially for Renault. Plus, other brands will be keen to get your PCP business from another brand. In time that should work in your favour, but who wants to be a guinea pig for that process :)

GT Line Ceed is a fine choice. Good luck if you go with it

Cheers. Still torn between the red and gun metal grey. Staying clear of Pcp to be honest. Always was a bit pessimistic about it and from reading the latest feedback on other forums from people coming to the end of their pcp deal it doesn't sound too positive. Just my view. I'm sure it works for plenty. I will be financing with a personal loan.

Demo car I drove was white and looked really well. 3 or 4 years ago I would have jumped at the white but it just reminds me of emergency vehicles now when I meet them on the road. I know... Don't ask😂

A friend of mine traded in his 07 golf gt 1.4 170bhp for a Gt line. The golf was beginning to cost him a lot in repairs, he does small mileage in and around town as he is more of a motorbike man. very happy with his purchase free servicing warranty and low running costs.

I bought the 1.6 in February and I love it. I got the red and i was thinking of white or grey but the red definitely looks the sportiest! however im finding it very hard on diesel on the motorways but grand on the back roads. Definitely not getting the mpg it says you should not near it! Also its 136bhp but only feels about 110 a bit disappointed with this but overall I still love it!

It'll take a little time to bed in I'd say. How fast do you be going on the motorway (honestly!) ?

120/130kms 6th gear revs dont be high, thers just over 4000km on it now l, how long would it take to break in?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,328 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Should've thought it'd be there by now tbh. What l/100km do you get at 120kmph? What were you expecting from the salesman blurb?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 lakegirl

Im only getting 6 on the motorway and 5.2/3 on the backroads! i was hoping to get nearer 60pmg! I still love the car tho most of my driving is local so its ok!

Hi. Ya. I decided on the red as well as its only available in the gt line and really catches the eye.
Decided to wait and put a 172 reg on it though.

Looking at buying one myself from the UK . The GT Tech has a lot more extras than the GT Line you can get here .

Just an update on this. Ended up getting a 171 in track red. Collecting it Tuesday. After much tooing and frooing I ended up buying off the dealer I got the first price. Was astounded that he had dropped almost 1900 euro from the first price I got from him by just pricing one dealer off another. Wanted to wait for 172 but they all said there was no way I was going to get this deal on a 172. So happy out with the deal in the end. They through in a few extras. Tank of fuel. Mats. Boot liner. Wind reflectors and genuine mudflaps. I'd say they were fairly sick of the sight of me in the finishðŸ˜

Fair play Sann. It's the way you have to be with dealers unfortunately.
