Why the mad race to sign Kane, even for hits. He is back from injury. Will he be 100%?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,776 ✭✭✭✭Tauriel

I brought in Cahill for Coleman when he got injured but Cahill isn't doing anything for me.

I was thinking of Baines but I'm not sure.

    Any ideas on a defender?

Are people even 100% he will start?

Bertrand, Yoshida or Bailly because of the doubles. Could also consider Verthongen

    Unsure what to do?

    A) Sane out Son in

    B) Aguero out Kane in

    C) Bank

    My attacking 7 is

    Sanchez - alli - Sane - Zaha

    Ibra - lukaku - aguero

With fletcher as the forever sub.

I'd go for B there. Jury is still out for Son with Kane in the team

Cheers, money not a big concern on either so will wait for pressers and see if Kane is confirmed starting.

    Yep.
No way Pochettino is going into the semi final without Kane having a start under his belt.
Kane will be desperate to catch up with Lukaku for the golden boot race too after he pulled away while Kane was injured.

I ended up ditching Pedro yesterday evening (should have done it a day earlier, ah well I gave up on price changes in 2017 and can't say it had a negative impact on my team so far).

But I have another FT so Lanzini's place not safe at all.

But we don't really know where his fitness is at all. Just that he played 30 mins last week and didn't look the most sharp.

Also,he went straight back into the team after the more serious injury earlier this season and he already has 30 minutes under his belt from last weekend this time around. He'll start.

I think he will more than likely start too. I just can't fathom why there's so much hullabaloo for him this week when I'd see Benteke as extremely likely to outscore him over the next 3 gameweeks, but it's entirely possible I've gotten myself way too excited about this Palace 3 week period approaching.

Both did happen, but I still don't think he looked too sharp. Don't get me wrong, I will have a serious case of the Kane fear this weekend. But I still couldn't convince myself to bring him in this week when I'd never captain him given all the doubt, Lukaku and Benteke being such good options this week, and Ibrahimovic being a must for the 2 weeks after.

I know that Kane at home is capable of a hattrick on any weekend, and this is the risk I run, just my logical assessment (I try to avoid gut feelings) is that this is not a prime candidate for such a weekend.

In his last 4 home starts, he's averaged 14 points.
You may disagree, but I personally think Kane is the best player the game this year. And Bournemouth have one of the worst defences in the league.

If it wasn't for the injury it would be a no-brainer, but I still think it's worth the risk.

See above, on a normal weekend I think Kane is a captain non-brainer this weekend. But this is not a normal weekend. If he starts he plays 60 mins max surely? On his first start last time he only played 72 and that was a huge away game against Arsenal where Spurs weren't winning. I know there has been a 30 minute cameo this time, but that wouldn't fill me with too much confidence that he will still be on the pitch in the later stages.

You're not helping my hankering to go for Benteke over Kane from now till 35.

I have Alli and Davies so 2 Spurs already. I have Aguero who'll go for Ibra for 34.

    Kane: BOU/cry
    Benteke: LEI/liv+TOT

    Will Benteke really outscore Kane?

I have you in the Harps Europa so why am I asking you for advice?? :):)

I was counting GW35 in there too when Spurs have Arsenal at home (I know people will say Arsenal are bad now, but it'll be a derby and Arsenal won't be as halfhearted as they have of late you would think) while Palace have Burnley at home. I think over GW33-35 Benteke outscores Kane. Even if I'm wrong about that. I'm looking at 4.2 million that I can hopefully make up the difference with.

Touché. I would still back Benteke to outscore Kane in 35 though. And 34 with the DGW. 33 is the one that I see as potentially being quite close (minutes depending of course) with Kane being more likely to edge it than either of the other weeks.

No way of having all 3? Because if I don't succumb to Palace drubbing Leicester possibilities I'll be captaining Lukaku.

Palace still need at least 1 win to be safe. I think it's fair to guess that Leicester will rest key players. Might not be a drubbing but Palace should be strong favourites to win that game.
