heating oil tank install - fittings

    seeking advice as i have to change oil tank

    can ptfe be used for threaded fittings to oil tank or is there a special sealing compound necessary ?

    any other pointers welcome

    I use stag and hemp.

    But I'm also insured to do the job if I cock up.

    I hate ptfe on oil connections.

    I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to use flax on oil fittings. No idea what stag is.

    Stag is a brand of Foliac jointing compound

    Its been done that way for years, and I've never seen one leak afterwards if done right.
    Compared to the plenty done with ptfe that I see weeping.

    I don't doubt it won't leak but I was always told not to use hemp. I don't even know why it's not supposed to be used. Pretty sure OFTEC say it shouldn't be used
