How would you know when a bullock / bull is finished and ready for the factory ?

    Have a few Limousine yearling bullocks , nice ones.

    Was goin to keep them for the summer and maybe finish them , but this might sound like a foolish question but how do you know when a bullock , etc is finished.

    weight, being filled out but not pudgy.

    Sell sell sell if I were you at the minute.!!!

    A continental bullock won't generally be factory fit until 24 months old +. Watch for full brisket (between front legs). Full smooth testical sack if still has one. And fat cover around and over the tail head. If they are good ones then under finish is more likely than over fat. Your friendly local cattle agent will help you out when you get that far.

    Same as condition scoring a cow
    Tail head
    Loin
    Ribs
    Thigh

    In addition any fat deposits in the sctotum is a fair sign. They're ready

    I had a holstein cull cow last year dry for the summer and in good condition but you still the ribs prominent ,agent felt along ribs and said she was fit .I could not believe the fat score she killed at 4=
