    Theres nothing inherently wrong with it, its a descriptor. There are plenty of words that ARE bad in meaning. Again, why is it only people in western/European countries that are so hung up about other people? I can safely say its doubtful they give a **** a about you in their countries.

    Its this kind of insane over-thinking that turns people against each other. The word police!

    The whole "the term coloured person is bad, please use person of colour instead" thing has a real Judean People's Front vs the People's Front of Judea buzz to it.

    Let's just say it as it is - it's "OK" to mention somebody is a minority of some sort when it is a good news story but not when it is a bad news story.

    Both seem like an offence against common sense to me but we are where we are.

    Haven't caught up with the whole thread myself, but the derailment if it is one started with this post.

    Some Swedes were planning a demonstration, "not against the the terror attack, but against the xenophobia it might spawn."

    Naturally people started debating what the response to terrorism should be, and that includes Le Pen and a restriction on immigration, or a very liberal approach such as the Swedes'.

    Some great posting by yourself Mountainsandh, working my way back along now. Depp and Ulysses Gazele too. Sorry if I've left anyone out.

    Seems like honest straightforward posting being choked by people seizing on semantics, dancing around points to maintain the doublethink and blindly declaring policies or viewpoints as evil because they are a bit too common sense and based in reality rather than fluffy happy land.

    I fell into the trap myself with one posters comments. At first glance they seem racist or whatever because we have been conditioned to think that way about certain facts or ideas. But when you dig down it's just reality. The same reality that we've been encouraged to suspend for some warm fuzzy virtue signalling.

    Sounds like these immigrants don't want to be in Sweden at all! They must be horrifically mistreated if they feel that they must throw rocks at a very moderate police force investigating a terrorist attack double plus ungood incident.

    Maybe an oil rich Islamic country could organise a refugee program to liberate them from the hell they are being held in against their will!

    1st :Stop immigration for a period of 10 years and see how that effects the situation . We have tried the open doors immigration and if that was working we would not be desperately looking for solutions .

    2nd : The strongly enforced banning of any religion that does not respect the right of other religions / or non religions to exist.....

    There are extreme forms of Islam that call for all non believers in their cult to be murdered . These should be banned and any followers of such cults should be sent to countries (if their are any ) that follow that particular sky fairy .
    No economic or other interaction should take place with such countries.

    These two reforms should be adopted immediately and if the current politicians do not adopt them I recommend that voters choose politicians that will adopt them...

    3rd ; Any religion that does not accept that the law of the land holds above their sky fairy laws should be banned.........

    There needs to be more regulation of mosques. . And being on a watch list should mean, being on a watch list. Look at what happened with London, the guy was known to authorities, as what happened at the Berlin Christmas Market at countless other attacks.

    These attacks are going to continue.

    How about helping the refugees where they are,so they can build up their country for starters.
    Looks like that is what they want.
    The asylumseekers are here for a new life and taking advantage of the situation,this has to stop.We cant save the whole world,refugees should be 1 priority.
    Stop helping the asylumseekers coming over from North Africa,this will only lead to more human smugglers making money,and more people drowning, and more problems in Europe with integration.
    Europe isnt prepared for a mass immigration at this scale.

    As callous as this may seem under the circumstances.... I'm more concerned about not blindly following them down the road they've been and less concerned about where and how the Swedes are going to manage a u turn.

    Indeed - help 10 people at a safe remove from the problem but still close by to get back in and rebuild their country once it is safe.

    Rather than spending the same money to drag one guy all the way to mayo and feed/clothe/house him here while he attends a fas course on manual car washing.

    Or a stepping stone qualification in engineering/medicine/architecture. Whatever people believe themselves is the more likely occupation if any.

    Wouldn't the doctors and engineers be better placed educating people in the camps so the rebuilding effort could be more effective?

    I said ban extreme forms of Islam .

    Islam that respects that other religions / non religious can exist and that respect Primacy of the Law of the land is okay by me .

    I did say that Any cults/religion /other ideology that does not respect the above should be banned .

    I did not say that moderate Islam should be banned .

    Read the post slowly and try to understand it before you jump in like a jihadi.......:eek:

    Stop taking in refugees just to throw them into ****hole suburbs with no amenities, no aspirations and no hope.

    If the Left are really truly serious about integration, and not hypocrites, then these refugee families need to be living side by side with middle class families to build aspiration. The kids need to be going to middle class schools and mixing with middle class kids.

    To me it's vital that this is done because otherwise you're going to get more situations like we have seen throughout Europe. No go areas, violence in these suburbs, high unemployment etc.

    Taking refugee families in may make people "feel good" but that is only half the job done.

    If I started a cult or lets say some subset of christianity that called for the death of all non believers in my cult and that was not willing to accept the primacy of the law of the land should it be banned .

    If my cult supported suicide bombers against those that do not follow my rules should this cult be banned .

    Moderate Islam is fine with me . No probs....

    Government should declare what is acceptable and what is not with regard to religions .

    Most important if you do not except Primacy of the Laws of the Land then you will not be allowed to practice you unacceptable religion / sky fairy worship....

    I really dont think it is possible to help refugees in Syria to build up their country right now

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    1) How has the US been doing with stopping illegal immigrants coming from Mexico?

    2+3) Historically, can you point to a time where banning a religion has resulted in good things?
