Truck driven into crowd in Stockholm - No Speculation

    Several people are injured after a vehicle drove into a crowd on one of Stockholm's main shopping streets, according to media reports.
    15:20: "At 14:53 we got the call via SOS alarm that some people have injured other people on Drottninggatan near Klarabergsgatan. Now we're at the scene to deal with it," a police spokesperson has told The Local.

    Police said they currently do not know how many people are injured and are working with emergency services to find out.

    "I have no idea where the vehicle is now, this is the information available to me."

    Police would not comment on whether the incident could be terror related, nor what has happened to the vehicle, and stated they are still assessing what has happened.

    "I don't know where the vehicle is at the moment, but we will update that information on our website."

    15:11: Police confirmed in a statement published at 2.53pm that they have received reports that "a person in a vehicle has injured other people".

    Remains to see whether this was an accident or a deliberate attack.

    It should be reported on and then mentioned in bulletins. Nothing more. Obsessing over it, will not help the situation.

    Kay Burley live from the scene for the next 24 hours talking about what the man wore, and whether or not he has connections to video games and/or ISIS is only going to encourage more of these attacks.

    BBC reporting it as a car, other sources a truck. I would guess the latter is correct

    Assuming this is deliberate.
    Any w@nker who can get a vehicle in gear can now kill people. To no end as far as I can see, except publicity.

    I just called a friend of mine in Stockholm when I heard what happened to see if she's alright. She said they're all locked in a H&M store a minute away from where it happened. Everyone's panicking and loads of people ran into H&M shouting "GET AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS".

    Scary stuff folks.

    Quite sparse detail on the BBC atm, apparently witnesses report several people on the ground, taking place on the 'Drottninggatan' or Queen Street.

    100% agree, although how do you stop the media reporting on it? Unfortunately these type of attacks are practically impossible to prepare against, and I fear they will become more commonplace now that attackers see the impact they have.

    Elon Musk needs to hurry up with self driving cars...

    Good man. We should suppress the story as much as possible, the ignorant peasants have no right to know about current threats and very real ideological incompatibilities. Just like Cologne and Rotherham. Sure what's a few thousand rapes and murders when it comes to pretending all is rosy with the failed experiment of multiculturalism.

    In fact, lets go a step further and prosecute anyone who tries to draw attention to these threats. 'Hate speech', we'll call it...

    Wrong, if the twisted belief system has been the cause of it, then it should be reported as the main cause.

    Hyperbole is unnecessary.

    What is the purpose of terrorism? The purpose of terrorism is to create hysteria, panic, and draw as much attention to your cause through the actions you take. So, do you think reporting on the issue at a pedantic level is going to help or thwart terrorist actions?

    I didn't say ignore the event. I said it should be treated like other news, during bulletins.
