Sorry but what right do BE drivers have to picket sites operated by other companies. Goodbye to any lingering public sympathy

Correction - Waterford services cancelled except 06.00 Waterford to Heuston. 06.30 from Carlow also cancelled

Is this not an obvious breach of contract given the official word is they aren't on strike?

On the Dublin bus app it just says to expect delays due to BE strikes at Dublin bus depots

Bus eireann drivers throwing toys out of pram nobody is listening to us so we will illegally picket everywhere else fecking disgraceful stunt t to pull

No notice to make alternative plans given. I found out while standing at the station. I'm not against strike actions being taken but this stunt is really bad form. It's very easy to loose public sympathy very quickly.

    Time to break the unions.

Yes yes, an ununionised working world is good for workers! We're watching the failure of fundamentally flawed thinking and policy here, mainly neoliberalism, which causes 'increasing worker insecurity', and I would have to disagree with somebody like Alan Greenspan, it is not good for the economy

Sack them, or they will be picketing at the local supermarket next.

    What an absolute joke

    Picketing other companies is outrageous

As night follows day, this was bound to happen.

Just waking up to an IT alert on the phone about this. This will cause massive disruption today and no doubt deliberately as it's end of quarter for many companies so would be an extremely busy day for staff. This will be all they need :(

Any DB/IE staff refusing to operate their routes should be sanctioned IMO, but this is obviously an attempt to force the Government to cave.

Someone *might* actually do something now...it was only a sideshow when every place but Dublin was affected...

They will lose pay for a dispute which most of them don't want to be part of. Certainly sounds from the radio this morning as if they had no idea there would be a picket at stations and depots this morning.

Irrelevant.. unless the BE staff are blocking trains/buses then they just get on with it. This nonsense of "can't pass the picket" is not an acceptable reason.

If they ARE blocking vehicles then the Gardai should be called to remove them. They had no problem shoving IW protesters out of the way after all.

As a train driver I am totally against what be drivers are doing here
We were supposed to be balloted next week I can't see this latest stunt gaining them much support
They are ****ting themselves as their current strike looks to be going nowhere and they need trains involved as it's not as if a private operator can come in and take over
Not in until this evening myself should be an interesting day ahead
And a shocking day for commuters with such uncertainty as to what services are actually running .
I would imagine what ever support be drivers had from the public has now disappeared

No chance that would happen. Public service and semi state employees look out for each other.
