If a job advertisement is seeking a level 8 in a relevant area, would an applicant with a level 7 and then a level 9 both in the relevant area be qualified?

    I'd imagine so?

Depends on the company and relevant experience

probably depends the role. I would suspect you would be covered.

You would think that having a masters would trump a degree but this is not always the case in the public service. I know somebody that had a requirement of a level 8 in a particular area but they were turned down because their level 8 was a different area despite having a level 9 in the relevant area. didnt even get an interview.

No harm in applying anyway. Years ago a degree was a degree, you might be fine with the 7 and the 9.
