    Mr. Noonan will be charging VAT of 13.5% on new graves:mad: See above article. What next can this guy tax - talking to your neighbour over the fence. It's about time he and Mr. Kenny stepped off the stage.

    This isn't a change. It's already the law, and has been for many years.

    The effect is to allow the developers of new cemeteries to obtain VAT input credits, which they couldn't do if the supply of graves was VAT-exempt. It may in fact make graves cheaper than they would otherwise be.
