What's the best weather conditions for spreading lime, i.e. can it be spread when it's raining or about to rain or could this wash it all away?

If the ground is trafficable and wind not too strong, horse it out. A drop of rain won't do it any harm at all.
    Don't fret the small stuff!

Rain after Lime is ideal to wash the Lime into the soil and start working rather than sitting on the grass.

Just avoid Urea after Lime and avoid other fertilisers and slurry for a week before and after spreading Lime.
