Same as a normal premium account, you can have it on multiple devices but only play one at a time.

this is bad news - the outcome of this sort of thing will be Spotify canning the whole family plan model.

To be fair, threads like this are doing the same. This could be worst disaster probably since the Great Dodgy Box Disaster of 2009. Remember that? Half the country dragged through the full grieving process at the same time: denial (hmm. wire must have fell out the back), anger (when I get a hold of that bastard down the pub), bargaining (if I only use it for sports the odd time it'll come back in a day or two, right?), depression (noooooo what'll we doooooo) and then finally acceptance: recycling centres up and down the country overwhelmed with useless boxes.

They said it couldn't happen back then.

    But look what happened.

Dodgy boxes are going stronger than ever i would have thought?

Ebay's on a different scale to Boards. On the Kindle store if you want to setup a family library you have to share payment details between the accounts, perhaps Spotify will bring something similar in to prevent abuse.

My family become orphans again when that happens :)

Bought an eBay subscription 1 year for 20 pounds
Was a bit weary that the guy was signing people up for a family account and could potentially cancel the account whenever he wanted l but decided to take a chance.. Anyways I just got the login details for the account and after looking at the account details I have my own account (9.99gbp monthly not family plan) and it is paid up until 25/05/18
I can also change the email address and password to the account so I am guessing the original guy no longer has access to the account

There will always be people circumventing the system but the % will be much smaller than the amount of people doing it the upfront way. Some people don't like change and don't have the ability to do 2 more steps to get a discount. It's like people who don't shop around for sim only deals or something and pay extra for nothing.

The % is low that there won't be a big uptake in companies closing small loopholes unless it gets out of hand. Remember when Netflix closed the VPN to most people for the US site? They lost a lot of money overnight but they said that it was a tiny % so they weren't bothered. It just pushed people onto Kodi to access their content really as those who figured out VPNs could easily figure out Exodus/Kodi.

    Hi Guys,

I've been reading this thread now for a few days now and I am really interested in getting in on a cheap premium account for Spotify, however as I'm new to this game I'm a little unsure how this "family" account arrangement on here would work. Can anybody explain how this works and how someone could be 100% sure that they are getting full 6 or 12 month premium access??

    Thanks

Someone sets up a Family account and pays €14.99/mth (~€180/year). They then have 5 invites to share, to share the cost. The shared cost is €30/year for each of the six.

Send the Family account owner the €30 and that'll cover your share for the year - they'll send you an invite link back along with the "Family" address to set on the account.

There is a level of trust involved, so don't do it with newly registered boards accounts. The person offering the spots could have either no Spotify accounts, or could cancel your spot on their end. Go with a regular boardsie and you should be safe enough.
