Woodwork machinery

Is it possible to rent decent machinery in Ireland? Looking for a planer/thicknesser for a few days.

I would be very surprised if this was available.

Knowing from experience that insurance companies hated insuring woodwork machinery
in the manufacturing environment, for untrained personnel.

After all woodworking machines dont differentiate between wood and flesh.

Same was the case for chainsaws from hire shops. Used to be available everywhere,
not so much so now.

Bring your sawn stock, and sizes to a local joinery. Shouldn,t be that expensive,
probaly cheaper than hiring out anyway..............even if you can get one.

Wouldn't be too bad if you had enough work lined up to get a full days use out of it, but you'd have to wonder with a hire machine (any type of hire machine in fact) would the blades be sharp (and no nicks), tables accurately set up and ready to go? You could "waste" a good bit of time setting up if the tables were out of whack.

Thanks folks, decided to go with the sawmill, it's cheaper but I can't write the expense off so was looking for an alternative, that planer is too small too. Appreciate the feedback.
