Interesting attacks from Gallopin and Gilbert

Wow, Sky still have 7 riders left in the peloton. That's some going.

Sagan seems to have no team mates left now.

    Gutted for Sagan :(

    Couldn't have a tighter finish for 1, 2 and 3.

Savage finish. Feel bad for Sagan after all the effort he put in to pull away

He needs to work on his tactics

Worked alright for him in plenty of races .....
Tactics are a bit overrated, he saw an opportunity. So did Kwai , and it worked for him. The opposite happened in Strade Bianche a few years back , where Sagan pipped Kwai on the line.... Luck helps

True and this sums him up

Sagan to Rai: "Results don't matter. The important thing is to put on a show."

But still every now and again have a think

Really exciting finish to what can be a bit of a procession. Maybe Sagan should have thought about it a bit more but at the same time maybe Kwiato and Gaviria shouldn't have been so defensive.

Seriously:confused: Kwiatkowski won. How could he have got his tactics wrong and ridden too defensively?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, it's just more fun to watch when everyone's throwing digs.

Sagan was trying real hard - look at his chain!

Some thighs on him too, many a track sprinter would be proud of those.

I think Kwai pipped Sagan that day too ;)

Sagan rode from the top of the Poggio to the finish line as if the bunch were right on top of them. He could have played games in the last 500 metres, but he still mightn't have won. Kwiatkowski always has a very decent gallop at the end of a long day.

The sight of Danny van poppel looking like he wasn't breaking a sweat while controlling the peloton going up the poggio is an ominous look for the TDF in a few months.

Tom Doumolan shaking his head at not been able to get rid of them said it all

Well i thought Sagan could've bluffed a bit more. The old cliche about being prepared to lose in order to win. A monument podium probably worth more to the other two than him, so he maybe could've bluffed/ eased up to force them through.

He is an awesome athlete. The bike handling on that descent yesterday was first class. He probably could be successful on the track if he trained for a few days on it (like he did for MTB for Rio!) :D

I would love to have seen a Sagan v Kelly head to head - same all or nothing style. It would be some match up. Seeing both of them burying it without fear
