beyond a joke yet hardly a surprise. Why do we always piss away underage talent?

Is there any coach in Cork to develop these players and why are they not involved? I suppose we can't have coaches making demands of the board, better have someone who is just glad to get the job.

Does anybody know Billy Sheehan's coaching history? SFA by the looks of it. What role does Eamonn Ryan have in this mess?

Doesn't matter how good a coach you are if you are not CB approved apparently.
Poor Eamonn probably thinks he should have stuck with the ladies, couldn't blame him.
We are a right shambles and what's worse, there really is no end is sight.

not giving the players a free pass but its obvious they have no confidence in management and who could blame them. morale must be very low

At least the Cork footballers of 5-10 years ago were getting beat to the top 2 or 3 teams.

We have fallen down that pecking order. Its actually been a nose dive

I thought their respective warm ups showed a lot about both teams. Cork did a reaction drill with two footballs and I gave up counting after about 30 seconds such was the number of balls being misplaced. I don't care who your coach is or what training ground you are currently using, an inter county player should be able to catch a bouncing ball and then field a high ball seconds later. Many can't as they are not good enough.

Meath on the other hand did a series of handpassing drills at pace with not one ball dropped. I know its only a warm up and most people couldn't give a hoot as it only matters when the game begins but the difference in mindsets was very evident.

Canty, Murphy, Lynch in the past would not have put up with the crap people did in the warm up.

Lol, yet Canty stood by when Murphy got taken out by Tagheen and didn't crack skulls

I never for a moment thought bringing Eamonn Ryan on board was a good idea. Eamonn has a great coaching pedigree but the demands of Inter County nowadays are much much different to what was there when he was last involved in the men's game. He simply cannot have the energy that's required now.

Cork county board did not even consider Kildare Manager Cian O Niell for the job. He is living in cork has a sports degree, has vast experience with his time in the Kerry football and Newtown hurling teams. Frank and co could not see that Inter County Managment has gone to a new level. We look like a Division 3 outfit at times now.

Indeed. I'd be very cautious on looking back at that Cork team with rose tinted glasses. They continously flopped in Croke Park against Kerry and eventually stumbled over the line against an awful Down team. If they had coming across the Kingdom in 2010 I'm pretty sure there would have been no AI.

Mind you they were always able to account for Tipp and Clare:D
