Speedy Gonzales, Deputy Dog and Hong Kong Foey a great opening tune for that one. Also I remember think The Rough Reddy show, The Jetsons and the The Quick Draw Mc Graw Show. These came from the Hanna Barberia studious.

Care Bears, My Little Pony, Turtles, He-Man and She-Ra, Earthworm Jim, Mighty Max, SuperTed, and any of the Barbie cartoons.

Of all of them it's Barbie, Care Bears and MLP that I love(d) the most.

I watched Ulysses, City of Gold, The Racoons, Dogtanian - all these had amazing theme songs, The Care Bears, My Little Pony, Jem, The X-Men, Batman, Thundercats, Mask, Rugrats, Doug, Heh Arnold, that one about the human body, Raggy Dolls and loads more already mentioned.

Can you include Beavis and Butthead, The Simpson's and King of the Hill?

Not a cartoon but does anyone remember Cockleshell Bay?

Opens thread, begins to makes list... now what was the name of that cartoon with the blood cells...

    Thanks.

Ah, I forgot Once Upon a Time... Life. That was quite educational. I think there were other Once Upon a Time series, but Life is the only one that stands out for me.

I vaguely remember another cartoon, where the cat's catchphrase was "I hate those meeces (mices) to pieces." I think there was a VHS tape in the house that my younger brother would play often.
EDIT: It was called Pixie and Dixie.

Wile E Coyote was the funniest cartoon character

However, the most laughs I ever got from a cartoon when a kid was this, The Cat Came Back, an independent Canadian cartoon. It was shown on Tony Robinson's Stay Tooned show.

    Top Cat for me also.

My two favourite shows when I was a kid were Top Cat and Sgt Bilko (Phil Silvers Show) and was only recently I enough I read that the whole intention of making Top Cat was to make a Sgt. Bilko style character kids would like.

I also never copped in all those years that the guy who played Private Doberman did the voice for Benny the Ball. Seemed obvious then when I thought about it but never twigged it at the time... nor in the subsequent years watching Bilko as an adult.

I worked in an office in Sussex where more senior staff were raving about that Clangers 70s cartoon that was posted earlier. Gosh I can just imagine Pink Floyd and Mike Oldfield getting high and watching a few goes of that while they penned their masterpieces!

However I am of that age where that long list of late 80s early 90s cartoons posted a while back would resonate more.

A bit surprised I haven't heard this one mentioned yet -

"Jeepersh! I can shee my houshe from here! Kum by yah!"
    (Eek the cat)

Favourite cartoon though was the turtles

Moomins! Animals of Farthing Wood, The Silver Brumby, Noah's Island, Scooby Doo, Rupert the bear, Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain and one called Little Bear I think. They used to start at 6am on Network2 and I'd get up every morning to watch them, would be raging if I slept in.
Also Biker Mice from Mars, He-Man, Power Rangers and in the latter years Pokemon crept in too.

Battle of the Planets, Rhubarb and Custard, Looney Tunes and Top Cat.

Cartoons are actually better these days. Some of the ones my kids watch, like Regular Show, Adventure Time and Gumball, are brilliant and very clever.

Maybe not a cartoon in a traditional sense (although did become one around 2005) but you cannot beat Muffin the Mule....
