Asus RT-AC87U work with Eir Fibre?

Folks, As the title says is there any reason why the Asus RT-AC87U wouldn't work with Eir fibre? I'm assuming i can just set up as needed if i buy this router? I've a load of devices on my home network and just want to upgrade the current F2000 router from Eir. Anything i should know about?

Dont pull the trigger. Thats a cable router, you have (V)DSL. Its suitable for FTTH but not DSL unless you want to keep the F2000.

The asus dsl-ac68u is the version you want. I just dumped my sky hub and using this instead. It's increased my speeds from around 45meg to 65 and downloading from my nas externally speeds have significantly increased.

Flash it with this firmware and it will really fly.

Merlin doesn't work with asdl routers as its proprietary.

I am trying to add an Asus AC87U to an Eir router in bridge mode. (The router keeps dropping I think as we have quite a few devices connected) I can't seem to get this to work. Are there any settings I should know about? I also have a Draytek 130 which i thought I could use instead of the F2000 router, but taking it one stage at a time. We have a Fibre connection into the house (VDSL2? I believe)
So far I have only gone onto the F2000 settings and switched to bridge mode. Connected a cable from the Lan to the Wan on the Asus router. Then tried to use the connection wizard to connect but no joy.
Any help greatly appreciated!
