What Was Your Favourite Cartoons As A Child

I watched some very funny cartoons when I was a child. The ones I found the funniest were the likes of Mr. Mago, Droopy and Road Runner to name but a few. Even with my own kids growing up they used to find the older cartoons the best over the newer ones. So just for fun lets see who can come up with some crackers.

Loved the Looney Tunes ones, He Man, Dungeons and Dragons, Duckula, Dangermouse, Flash Gordon, Defenders of the Earth, Trap Door, MASK, Ulysses 31, Centurions and of course Battle of the Planets.

The thing is though, when you compare them to some of the stuff that's on kids TV now, they're so slow moving and obvious and dull. Not a patch on the rapid fire lunacy of Teen Titans Go! or the innocent moronity of Clarence or the subtle depth of Adventure Time or the heartwarming We Bare Bears. Cartoons have come a long way. A lot of it is probably down to the toys being developed after the show takes off rather than the other way around.

I grew up in the 70s and so I got to watch The Amazing Spiderman, Valley of the Dinosaurs, Hong Kong Fooey etc. on Saturday mornings. My favourite cartoon character remains Daffy Duck though.

I remember a lot of those you mentioned and they don't seem to make them like those any more. I remember sitting down one day and watching a Tom and Jerry matathon on Cartoon ntework but the older ones seemed to be more fun than the more up to date ones for some reason.

I agree with you Daffy Duck is one of my favourites as was Fog Horn Leg Horn. Who ever came up with a name like that must have been a pure comic genius. Brilliant name for a cartoon character.
