Yellow oil can symbol

    Theres a yellow oil can symbol in the middle of my clocks in my a4 , I done a bit of research and it says it's an oil level warning but my oil is full

    I noticed a few splatters of oil around engine bay aswel

    Any ideas ?

    It actually says sensor next to the oil can symbol

    Look to see if there's a faulty sensor.

    Found this online....
    Warning "B": YELLOW warning with oil can and "SENSOR" text accompanied by a single BEEP. This means the output of the oil level sensor (in the oil pan) is goofy. You should check the oil level just to be sure, but if the level is fine it is either a bad sensor or damaged wiring. Again, not life or death. Relax.

    Thanks for that. I wouldn't know much about it myself so il have to wait until Monday to get it checked

    Would you say it's ok to drive until then ?

    Engine management light is also on, could it be connected ?

    Without knowing what the issue is, you could cause damage to your engine. You've checked the oil, which is good, but I would get it looked at asap. And check the oil. A lot. Also, buy some oil and put it in your boot, in case you run short.

    i replaced this sensor a few months ago (2002 A4 1.9d), I think the replacement was about 20€ from local motor factors. drain oil and 3 screws hold it in place. I am pretty sure the engine management light was not lit up though, so there could be more going on in your case.
