Replacing Kitchen Monobloc Tap

Guys, I've tried to replace a monobloc tap in kitchen that was past its best. The old piping was copper and the new tap came with flexi tails....so i've cut copper back installed compression valves to the ends and connected flexis to these. I'm getting a leak though / or should i say a drip not from the hard pipe end of the compression fittings but the flexi tail end ...ive tightened these up as much as i can...there is no washer / olive as such i simply screwed flexi tail direct into the compression fittings & im getting a leak here no matter how much i tighten (can tighten no more).....what im i doing wrong or what im i missing? Any help greatly appreciated.

There should be a washer inside the flexi tail end. PTFE tape on the compression joint and don't overtighten or you'll wreck the washer inside the flexi.

Thanks bud PTFE tape was the answer.
