Lovely looking machine, well wear! Had it got the same engine as the E60 535d then?

Thanks. Yeh think it's the same one. Not sure if that engine got an upgrade or anything (I assume it did as it was around from 2005 but perhaps not). Can't quite get over how powerful it is.

That looks minty, best colour option too IMO...

    Well done, looks the biz...

The warranty on mine expired in January. I'm of 2 minds whether or not to pay the 400 quid to extend it.

Think you can only extend the warranty when it's currently under warranty (and just about to expire obviously). Don't think you can let it lapse and buy another policy (from BMW anyway).

Congratulations Mark and well wear with it, looks like a well cared for 6er.

Will hopefully be picking up my new (14 reg) F10 M Sport at the weekend also:

BTW I didn't know the BMW Premium Used warranty was transferable to a new owner, good to know that, and €500 to extend it on a 6 Series sounds like good value.

    Brilliant Bazz,
    Congrats, looks the absolute biz!!!

I dont follow the pic thread so missed that you had bought.

    Enjoy!

    Have you got it yet?

Nice car, I bought similar over 2 years ago with about the same mileage - pro nav etc looks great. Post up some more pics and a review when you get it.

A little over 25. Looked at the 2009 one in Colm Quinn, it was 28,000 but the miles were high. Noticed yesterday they've upped it to 30 :o

Saw this today. My car just keeps coming up short in terms of what I need back for it.

Absolutely stunning car, seems to have almost everything.

Is that the one being sold by the dealer in Howth?

It is. He has two coupes and two gran coupes. The one I drove is the one with glass roof.

I spotted it yesterday while trawling through the usual adverts. I did think it would be something that would interest you alright. That dealer always has some tasty stock.

Only went online last night. Think the guy who traded it was trying to sell privately too. Has heads up display, soft closing doors, the works.

    Did you see this one:

Paintwork doesn't look the best but it maybe just because they bother cleaning the car for the photos.

I did, like yourself I was wondering what the story is with the paint, could be just the light though. I'll struggle to find anything as good as that one in Beshoffs I'd say, I just need to sell mine privately and quick if I am to go for it.

    I knew a 520d wouldn't float your boat.
Will beshoffs not take your 635d or offering too little?
    Beautiful car by the way.

I'd still be well up for a new 520d, even with PCP it would more than likely be cheaper for me to be driving a 640d every month though. And they are a different animal altogether. They'll take it as a trade but it's less again than I was offered for the one in Stillorgan a month or two back. There's a few 430d gran coupes I'd at least like to look at. A7 is another car I lust after but I keep coming back to the 640.

Does the 640 feel like a big jump from your own 635?

It's more luxurious, refined, bit more wow factor about it I suppose. Power delivery is not as blunt, it's a more controlled 'waft' if you get me. It's a big jump in repayments too though.

I'd be wary of the PCP on the new 5 series, the GMFV on them is ridiculous at about €26k meaning there will only be minimal equity in them in 3 years.

I was looking at 6 Gran Coupes & A7 as well recently - it is really a preference thing. Broadly speaking for the same money you will get a year or two newer A7.

This is cheap for an A7 but only an SE http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201702072092544?advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&model=A7&make=AUDI&radius=1500&postcode=e153ar&sort=price-asc&year-from=2015&page=1

If I was gonna go 5 series I'd use the 4K contribution as the only deposit and have higher repayments. Safest way I can see not being stung in 3 years with BMWs GFV.

XF, boss has one. For that reason alone.... :)

You still get to the same gfv regardless of how much you put in at the start.
Smaller deposit just means more interest as more borrowed. Minimum would be 10% so you would need to add 1/1.5k for a 55 grand car.
Is the Apr not really high too 7 or 8 per cent?

On the other hand I suppose you gave a brand new car with warranty and service looked after compared to a 5 year old that potentially could expose you to higher running costs.

The APR seems mad alright considering what some of the competitors are doing. You can go out and buy a more than capable brand new Golf GTI at 1.9% with €2,000 contribution. More fun than a 520d too.

At least with a low deposit / higher payments you're not chasing equity at the end.

Colm Quinn have what looks to be a lower mileage similar car to the one I looked at today. It's retailing higher but they would hopefully be able to do a similar cost of change with BMW warranty etc etc - maybe I'm just being overly optimistic ;)

It's cheaper too because it's a non Quattro version. Those A7's are very nose heavy, the weight of the v6 engine and front wheel drive make them not nice very nice to drive. The Quattro version is the way to go.

I think A7 Quattro in grey with black pack is a fab looking car but the physical size of both it and the 6 series put me off as they must be difficult to park and on country roads feel their size.

What are the payments on the 520d mark?

With just the 4,000 contribution €799 per month. A lot of money especially when you get the wheels wrong :)

Love those 6 series...wouldnt be practical for me though...need the touring. What's the difference in the 635d and 640d? I would have presumed the same 313hp lump in the 535d would be the highest powered diesel in the bmw range (apart from the 550d which is not available here or uk).
