You already got notification back? Did you apply for the cork offices or for all of them? I did an internship last summer and it was unpaid so watch out for that! But in general its a fantastic internship and they really take you under their wings! The interviews are generally quite laid back but don't take it for granted! Know your current affairs and I know for the traineeship interview they give you scenarios that you have to give clients general advice on so be prepared for that! I generally find having a glance over tje law gazette is a good way to prepare for interviews :)

I wouldn't worry too much yet. I remember for the traineeship interviews in October there was people on here with interviews before the deadline for applications had even passed. I was offered an interview a few weeks after the deadline passed.

I'll be very disappointed if I wasn't even offered an interview this time around. I wasn't successful after the interview for the traineeship but I thought the interview went fairly well. Obviously there's going to be more competition for traineeships so I'm fairly confident of getting offered an interview for an internship. If I don't I can only assume the interview went much worse than I thought. I'm a bit surprised to hear that they don't pay their interns consider they're a top 10 firm but I still desperately want the internship there.

Not to stir the pot, but RDJ are not top ten. Across all practice areas they consistently rank outside the top 10, top 15 and even top 20 for some areas.

I think when people state that they're talking about size, as in the number of solicitors, where rdj would be in and about the top ten

I stand corrected on the size of RDJ. Someone messaged me this which actually states the size (in terms of number of lawyers) at each firm and I think it's actually useful for all of us.

How long is an average internship interview? Is it a good thing if they keep you for nearly an hour?

I am really stunned that RDJ internship is unpaid. It seems worthwhile in any case, as experience is experience, but it totally flies in the face of the norm. Thanks for all this info, really appreciate it. I only applied for Cork.

Anyone going to the Eversheds interviews tonight? I am also unsure what to expect. I much rather when I know the names of the interviewers before I shake their hand. Anyone got any tips?

It's just a chat, easily the nicest of all the interviews. They pretty much just run through the application and ask you about various pieces from it.

Do you mind me asking how did the interview go?

Also interviewing for RDJ next week. Didn't realise it was unpaid, nor that there are only 9 available places!

Also interviewing for RDJ next week, Tuesday morning. Didn't realise it was unpaid, nor that there are only 9 available places!

Do you mind me asking what office it's for? Is that 9 places over the three offices?

I'm interviewing in cork, have realised since posting that I was looking at the information sheet for the 2016 programs, but presume it would be the same this year. It says there that they were interviewing a shortlist of candidates and there would be three spaces available in each of their offices for each month.

So each office is taking on 9 interns then? I just applied to Galway anyhow.

Yes I think so, have you heard from them? 3 per taking seems quite little compared to other firms.

@LegalAnna The Eversheds interview was nice. Very conversational, and they tell you that. Ample time to bring up things that you want to. There were a lot of candidates - 6 an hour. Some law backgrounds, others non-law backgrounds. Big mix of final year law undergrads, and graduates too.

Anyone hear from the Dublin office?

Still haven't heard from RDJ about anything so I'm just going to assume the worst and assume I didn't get this internship either :(

It's really bad form when they don't even respond.

I know, those applications can take hours or even days to perfect and its the height of rudeness to not even reply :(

Nothing from maples yet either although I know they've called for interviews

I wouldn't worry yet. I'm open to correction here but it seems like they've only gotten back to people who applied to the Cork office. For the traineeship interviews in October people had interviews with them and I hadn't heard anything. I ended up getting an interview with them. Until you get a PFO them I wouldn't be worried yet.

When I applied to Maples they said they would get back to everyone by Tuesday the 14th March so I wouldn't panic too much just yet! I'm surprised people have been called to interview before this week though!

Yes. Imagine how what they're like to work for if that's the way they interact with people?!

Do you know someone interviewing there?

I did apply to the Cork office so I guess I can cross them off the list. A number of firms don't even seem to be sending out PFO's so I'll just assume I didn't get it and try again next year :)

Has anyone who interviewed with William Fry last week heard back yet? I was flustered in the interview and cannot remember when they said they'd let us know.
