Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I have 150 euro to spend on a bottle of Whiskey for my old man for his birthday. I am out of the country so will be ordering from the Celtic whiskey shop. I have gotten him green spot, teeling and middleton rare in the past, although he probably has forgotten.

    So looking for some advice on what would be a good buy from the people in the know?

    All under your budget but

    15 year old redbreast. to my mind far nicer than the 12..
    Yellow spot.

    I'd also suggest Redbreast buy if you can spare another €34 then go for the 21 year old.

    (I'm really hoping that my one of my kids joined boards and started this thread!)

    The 21 year old is, to be fair a gem but is it worth twice the cost of the 15 year old ???

    Ive bought him yellow spot in the past too. Ill check out the Redbreast but Im kind of stuck with the budget.

    Kbannon you're location is freaking me out, as my dad worked there for years but unless your name is nothing like you're log on then no relation

    Redbreast 21 is exceptional and worth the extra money simply as an occasional treat but if your budget is limited then by all means go for the 15 and your dad won't be disappointed.

    As for my location, Arthur Guinness first had a brewery in Leixlip (his brother used to own one of the fine pubs here too).
