Anyone flown with Etihad recently?

Flying Dublin to Melbourne next week with 3 year old twins and hubby. Are Etihad very strict on Cabin Baggage rules? 7kgs per person. I will stick within this but one of our cases is 70mls over their spec as it says to include wheels and handles. Anyone had any problems? Would it be a case of pay extra but keep it with us or check it in? Just worried as kids food/spare clothes etc. We have those small cases that are fine on Ryanair etc but this is only 7kgs, not 10. Oh and any tips or how did you find them? Thanks in advance.

Cabin bag dimension limits are all about making sure that the bag will fit in the overhead bins. It's really down to who is on the boarding gate whether they check your bag and potentially take it from you to put in the hold - just because someone replies that they sailed through with an oversize bag last week counts for nothing.

Thank you. Decided to ditch the cases and buy small back packs to be on the safe side. Not worth the worry. Will be fully compliant now.
